all folding knives without the flipper finger guard/choil is a fail. all locks are fallible. the flipper finger guard is an important and mandatory feature. a 500 dollar knife without it is worth less than a tick on a dog's butt

This is literally why I do what I do. But please don't ask me for anything I am rather.. backed up on orders/rethinking my non profit deal albeit I won't make this a job and. That's inevitably going to happen so ya. Give me a few weeks if you want a custom. (EDC blade copies in other steels can be done within a day - my buddy has a 3D laser mapping thing and a 5 axis NC that makes very short work of . Literally exact copies to the TEN thousandth of a millimeter.. yes it's beyond what most companies are using. That's always available for anyone who is a decent guy.

More correct I'm backed up on bidens bullshit and materials. Not time and orders per se* except for someone who asked for a 15v knife and sourcing 15v *RELIABLY* without the contacts that I don't have and I honestly don't want - is not so easy. Yes I did what I could to talk him out of that alloy. He understands it.

Argentinian here. Arbolito means "little tree" in spanish and makes reference to the tree symbol for which the tree brand is known for. Along with Yarara (a much younger brand) is one of the two main cutlery manufacturers of the region. Most Argentinos own an arbolito (via purchase or be inherited) and we are quite proud of them.

Mr. Andersen, thank you for this. That Black micarta Kizer Gemini is an absolute gem. I got it because it was introduced at an even lower price and I've never looked back. Could fidget with it all day. As an additional gem, I nominate the Ruike Hornet. It's my favorite small fixed blade. It's got an elegant and efficient drop point blade shape, super slicey high flat grind, tough but easy-to-maintain 14C28N steel, skeletonized G-10 handle scales for a skinny but secure grip, chamfered edges and outstanding overall ergonomics, and it has an uber-versatile carry system. Add to that, it's very easy on the eye AND it comes in under $50. Unbeatable.

I feel that if you're talking about, or recommending knives within a certain price range, going ten dollars over the limit is acceptable as long as you can make a good "value" or "quality" argument for a particular knife's inclusion. Obviously, this doesn't include the "$10 or Less" category.

Common now, the Kizer budget folders are not good, an understatement! I bought one a couple years ago that would not lock open and was very cheaply made. Sent it back immediately (not a KnifeCenter purchase). Their higher end knives might be alright, but once bitten, twice shy, Kizer never again. Bestech Mako flipper has superb action, the way to go with Bestech. Maybe the best action of any flipper I own. I got it at around $50, it is now about $70. Still worth it, a heavier duty EDC/outdoor folding knife. Maybe the best budget folder (under $75) I have ever bought.

It's always a pleasure watching your videos and learning about all things knife-related. My wife is jealous of my time spent watching your exceptionally thorough videos. Quick question: Do you have preferred storage/display methods (non-commercial) for your folding knives? I have paltry 46 folders in original boxes/packaging but I'm seeking an easier way to view them at a glance. I'm thinking foam-lined cases. Please educate me. Thanks 👍

I have to say, since Kizer started tweaking how their pivots work (starting with the Begleiter 2), they have subjectively the best production action out of any brand. Their liner locks are pretty much perfect (button locks are a bit lacking compared to Civivi for now)

I watched this because I saw the Kronos on the thumbnail. I’ve three Moki knives in my Japanese collection. They feature in the history of knife making in their connections with Gerber, Al Mar and Spyderco. The Enzo (Brisa) PK70 is my top recommendation for a U.K. carry. They were made in the Taichung factory in Taiwan, who are known for extremely high quality knives. Unfortunately, since I started pushing them, the PK70 is sold out and Denis at Brisa says he won’t be making any more… very sad! I’m a big fan of Böker knives, but I’ve not yet had any Arbolitos.

I am just a slight bit addicted to Moki. I have 8 of them.... All three sizes of both the Kronos series and the Ares. Add to that two Leaf (one wood and one mother of pearl). I believe it is the best fit and finish you can get for the money.

I've been wanting to buy a Casstrom for a very long time now, but am dragging my feet for one reason or another. The fit and finish really does appear to be second to none, and I will have one or five someday. Also, I think this would be a good series to add to the rotation of videos. I had zero knowledge of the Brisa brand until now, and now that I do I will definitely pay more attention to it. ( I really like the Birk you showed, but $146 feels a bit steep for D2 even with the the beautiful contouring of this green Micarta scales. Especially when S30v is offered for the same price. Just my opinion...)

One of the reasons so many folders aren’t very comfortable in the hand is the pocket clip. More often than not, the clip is a “hot spot.” You can remove the clip on most models, which often helps.

Added both the Kizer knives to my wishlist. I'm not normally a fan of Chinese-made stuff, but I've been really impressed with the quality of these knives. I have the Sheepdog mini, and it chews through anything I need it to at work without any issue. 154CM holds an edge great, and I imagine that N690 will as well. It's insane how good a price you can get some of these knife steels at these days.

I've had the D2 swordfish for a few years now and it continues to impress. Super smooth action, flipper tab and liner lock tab are nicely finished, no sharp edges to be found. Fantastic value at $52. I've come to call the swordfish the poor man's zt0452cf, it really reminds me of it. Bestech does a great job across their pricing. Their quality is consistent. At the higher end, the Togotta is Bestech flexing big time.

Yes, Sleipner is very tough steel and has better edge retention than 14c28n in my humble opinion.

I only use folders with the crossbar locking mech. (I don't have a lot of folders haha). Your reviews are damn good, sir.

That tip on the Boker Arbolito has me scratching my head. Did they intentionally round off the tip or is the QC that bad?

The close up shows no "rounded off tip". The Boker Arbolito brand is a top quality knife...without any QC issues.

@@blueeyeswhitedragon9839From my view its rounded off, no matter what picture frame I look at. Just isn't the knife for me than, no big deal.
