I have a pic of one of my mom's favorite actresses that I want to put it on a shirt for her. I wanted to "frame" around the image with leaves. The most efficient way that I could come up with until now was turning some high-res leaf images into brushes because I want to randomize the leaves, but even that still looked unrealistic and janky. I'm now going to use this method only setting the Density to a lower number and just masking out any leaves that misbehave on the final image. I think the addition of the real leaves will compliment greatly the final piece so much more. Thanks for the technique!

I just used this technique to make a scalable seamless pattern. I used a very small section of a stucco wall image. This technique avoided some of the problems with evening out tone and other issues from defining a pattern from a larger initial area. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for doing this. I’ve been planning to do something like this to “stamp” graphics on top of other designs and this looks like it will do the trick. I hadn’t seen any of your videos before so I thought the first few seconds was one of those ads about making money. This video was way more helpful than those!

I think the most important thing i learned today was the fact that you can hold shift and click to create a straight line. I always used to draw straight lines after an hour of editing a video where it became so laggy that photoshop recognised my brush movement as teleportation and it created a straight line from where i started drawing to where i stopped...

Awesome video, thank you! I once created hundreds of dollar bills for an art project. Ps would not let me edit them so I had to use an old application that was not as strict. I had three files, a black image of the front of the bill, a green image of the rear of the bill and a green image of those green printed parts on the front of the bill. Using some off white heavy paper stock, I first printed one copy of the black front and then photocopied this hundreds of times into the heavy paper stock. Them the sheets were fed through the printer to add the green to the front and back. Lastly, I cut each bill with a scalpel and metal ruler and made several stacks that could be riffled and distressed. The high point was when a colleague’s jaw dropped and they asked how much had I spent creating the look - they believed they were looking at actual dollar bills...
