This has been my favourite tv programme of all time. I used to watch it avidly with my husband but he died two years ago and so I now watch it on my own. What a truly lovely and happy family, they love each other so much and expect so little. I adore little Clem, she'll make a fine vet! More please on this gorgeous family.

Dear Jenny; I love this family too. I’ve just discovered the videos a few days ago so I have some catching up to do. Clem is my special favourite although all of the children are wonderful. What a lovely place to grow up, to learn and to teach the younger ones, outdoors most of the time instead of glued to a television or computer screen. ~ I’m sorry you have lost your husband. Love this family with their close bonds, Dad and Mam are so nice and extremely hard working and it sounds daft but they all warm my heart and make me smile.

It's an absolute joy to follow this family. Reuben and his sidekick Sid, and Clemmy just makes me beam with her little observations, she's adorable.It's been fascinating to watch them all grow and develop their own personalities. Long may it continue.

@John Ashtone I'm distantly related to the guy who stood next to King Harold at the Battle of Hastings. In fact, he heard Harold's last words. Apparently Harold said "Here, watch what you're doing with that arrow! If your not careful you'll have someone's eye out!"

Not quite sure what you mean by that but I'd bet that if any of the lads wanted to do something not traditionally "masculine", Amanda would 100% support that too, and vice versa with the girls. Their open-mindedness, support, encouragement and tolerance is what makes them great parents and why the children are as they are.

Fantastic find in that old box! My grandfather gave me an old Mamod traction engine, had loads of fun with it. I seem to remember there was a safety pressure release valve, operated by a spring to keep it closed until it reached a certain pressure, then it would open. Maybe that was stuck closed on their model?

incredible to think that my ancestors are from here. They probably stayed in that house at some point. probably every house in rural Yorkshire, over the centuries 💕 Yorkshire surname and all 💕

I have got a Wilesco D 455 vertical boilered stationary steam engine. it looks like the model engine they found was a Early Mamod engine?
