the graphics might be 3d but it's still a 2d game in terms of movement. not sure if some edge cases make the 3d hit boxes act differently than if they were 2d, but for the most part the 3d side is a graphical choice

I think this mod would be a lot better if instead of third person view, it was the standard view except zoomed in. I think that would help remove a lot for the SDs that come from it being difficult to see and control.
