Hi Tomo, hi just recently found you on KZfaq this morning and have been watching a lot of your videos. I love your approach and mindset towards teaching others to play and just enjoy music. I have been watching Normans rare guitars guitar of the day with Michael for several years now and always wondered how he learned to play the way he did, when I found out today that you were his teacher for sometime and had quite an influence on his playing it made A lot of sense. I do have a question about your wisdom subscription lessons. I understand that you are mainly a teacher on the blues, which is one of my favorite styles of playing on electric that I want to learn. But, would you say everything that you teach throughout your wisdom lessons would be transferable over to genres such as rock and classic rock? I signed up today and really looking forward on getting started. Thanks!

@@TomoFujitaMusic yes sir, I have already joined and really looking forward to it. I went blind 5 years ago and started learning to play about 2 years ago, mainly acoustic guitar and I’m really looking forward to learning more on electric. I’ve just been overwhelmed with all the info and really needing that direction and guidance on how and when to apply everythingThank you!

In July 1970 my brother and I were on vacation with our folks in LA I was 15 and my brother was 13 and belief it or not our parents let my brother and I get on a bus and go to the strip in LA and we also went to the Capital record building that was amazing they let my brother and I go , coming from a average size midwest town like Sioux City Iowa . There was a music store there named Willies or something like that name it was Saturday a little before noon I think , we walked in and we heard this amazing guitar player bending strings and sounded really great and I ask the store owner if my brother and I could go back behind the counter to watch this guy play .The store owner ask Mr King can these two lads go back and watch you play .He said come on back . I ask the gentleman are you B B King he said no I am Freddy king and he showed me how to do bends and double bends on the strings .So when I got back to my home to Sioux City Iowa I practice my butt off, at that time I was playing lead guitar in my first band with Drummer Rick ( Pudger ) Bolin Tommy Bolins youngest brother . I will always be greatful to Freddie King

I love how you teach a song! You don't just show what notes to play.. for that there are tons of teachers on KZfaq.. you explain what each note is relative to the scale and chords, and enrich everything with so much important information! If someone just learns a song and doesn't take stuff from it to hse in his/her playing, it's too bad.

I have been playing guitar for almost 8 years now. Never have a lesson before or hand to hand teaching. I learn most of my fingers styles from KZfaq and slowly I change it into my style. Don’t really know all the chords name but I remember by the sound instead. It’s a really good feeling to pick up a guitar a just play with out trying to cover anyone work ! Plus ! Once I have a J , I will play like Jimmy :)

As a teenager in the late 60s. I learned Hideaway from the Beano album, although not perfectly. I play the main riff on the A and D strings at the 9th fret instead of open on the B and E strings. Freddie seemed to always play that on the high strings, but I think I’ve seen Clapton play it both ways. You point out the similarities between the riff on the bass strings and the riff from Daytripper. The Bluesbreakers used the Daytripper riff on their cover of What I’ Say. I still haven’t gotten the descending riff from the funky chord up on the neck. Beano is one of the most significant albums to me. At one time I could play a reasonably decent version of every track with Clapton’s Les Paul, except for the solo in Have You Heard which eludes me to this day.

It was really great. That case, you need to hear with your guitar! Don't rely on internet information. Everyone has own taste! Forever ultimate amp! That case, spend more time and save $$$. For forever amp...then spend as much as you can. For instant, for someone, Fender Vibrolux Reverb is great! 40 watts & 2-10s! Or someone loves a vintage Fender Super Reverb!
