Any tips on increasing the power of my iaijutsu? I did Tameshigiri practice recently and my kesa cuts when through the tatami mats, but my iaijutsu didn’t cut through the mat completely.

There are many reasons why you might not be able to cut the tatami all the way through. 1. using incorrect force - mainly when you cut while your body is floating upwards.Try swinging with your feet and thighs firmly on the ground and feeling low to the ground. 2. Incorrect swing trajectory-if you pull too hard, the tip of the sword may fall out. 3. stopping the sword too early - you need to cut all the way through and then stop. In my channel membership video, you can learn how to slash with more force. See also🥷
