How can an indoctrinated villain that is so high and mighty (yet fails in the fist fight in the end) and whom can’t help himself but to begin another monologue each time be more original than a father who seeks out for his son even in death, warping us to the historical battlefield each time to fight both with him and his undead squad? Are u high or something? I totally enjoy Higgs since he only exists because Kojima loves both to misdirect a player and to witness Troy Baker being Troy Baker. I mean, all that passion for monologues in Higgs only exists because how charismatic Troy Baker seems to be in Hideo’s eyes (and that is truly so) but I can name dozens of characters that are being better written than Higgs. And to do so, you don’t have to search for examples outside of Hideo-san’s franchises. Big Boss, Ocelot, Solid Snake, Amelie/Bridget, Diehardman, Sam, Cliff-and I can go on even further. He has a potential and I hope to see that potential being utilised in DS2 but so far he’s like your generic overpowered character that could tear main character apart in the very beginning (especially knowing that he literally hated Sam) but all he does is falling into another monologue and creating some obstacles that are relatively easy for Sam to deal with. Charismatic? Yeah. Good design? No doubt. Amazingly portrayed by Baker? Undoubtedly. Best character of all time? Man you must be high as hell to claim this. Arthur Morgan, Kratos, Joel, mister DeWitt, Dante and many other iconic characters say hi)
