High Court judgment on DA bid to outlaw cadre deployment

WATCH | The North Gauteng High Court delivers judgment in the DA’s long-standing battle to have ANC cadre deployment declared unconstitutional and unlawful.
Cadre deployment is at the root of state capture and has enabled corruption, nepotism, and the endless looting of state money. Over the last 30 years that the policy has been in place, people have been given jobs based on political affiliation and ANC loyalty - not based on merit. The result has been the fall of Eskom, SAA, PRASA, and many other state-owned entities, bringing the country to the brink of collapse.
The DA will not stop fighting until corruption is uprooted and the ANC is removed from government. South Africa will not survive another term under the ANC.
This election is our last chance to rescue SA. The stakes are simply too high to stay home on voting day. So, on 29 May, make sure you get to the voting station where you are registered, and vote DA to Rescue SA!

Having watched Mac G's Podcast with John Steenhuisen on KZfaq, and the Documentary about Mayor Chris Pappas of uMngeni Municipality ( also on KZfaq), the DA is by far the most progressive, the most compassionate and the most experienced choice to take SA and the Multi Party Charter forward in 2024!!

Dry taps is the #1 issue in this country. It is a human right to have access to clean water. #2 is loadhsedding. It is impossible to build an economy in this age without access to energy. We are so vulnerable to foreign powers in this position. All other problems are to be solved after this.

South Africans who are overseas in May 2024 and who are already registered to vote in SA, will be able to vote at their nearest SA embassy/ mission using just their SA ID! The previous requirement for a valid passport as well, has thankfully been dropped!! The voting usually takes place 10 days before SA's election date and an online VEC 10 notification form has to be completed in time!

DA doesnt fight for me, or my area, and for 20 long years we've voted my community is largely been abandoned and our DA councilors seem to be good for nothing other than forwarding reference numbers. Does the DA know how to wield its strength? Is the DA willing to fight the hard fight? Sector 3 in Germiston is basically working alone to function, EFF are wandering into the area and harassing members who are cutting the grass in the streets because the municipality won't, some of us have been without power for weeks, shit is running down our streets, water infrastructure is hanging by a thread, illegal communes are popping up filled with foreigners. The only people seemingly benefiting from DA control areas is the Western Cape, at our expense. Ive already begun working with a journalist about how we have been forgotten here and excuses from the DA and its unwillingness to rally any support for basic basic services will only add to what many podcasters already say, the DA doesnt know how to wield strength. Talk is cheap DA, we here in Germiston Sector 3 expected our vote to count for something. Years of fighting is wearing us down, we arnt a rich community, we cannot afford to counter problems.

Same here on the west rand. But I think they have no power in Jhb as a result of the ueseless mayor that serves the ANC well. And because of how we have been left to our own defences I am not sure the multi party thingy is going to work. I personally would want to vote for a win and not the "best" possible outcome. The people in our ward are starting to fight each other as a result of political meddling. 😢

The problem is that ANC had gotten to a point where it disregarded merit (especially with state owned companies, i.e., SAA) and used cadre deployment as a tool to exclusively hire people because of their loyalty. Surely a person with a brain can understand how that has led us to corruption and state capture.

Lol...if there is no political interference in how administration of a municipality or the government is run and people are hired to a department based on merit and not political affiliation, then how can there be corruption? Merit also includes integrity and previous work history. Bad history, not eligible for hiring. When administration is run along lines of accountability and good book keeping, any disturbance in that line will be noted and the culprits found. The vetting process and investigation into their wealth if any is checked when applying for a government job. Any gifts have to be written up to ensure that bribary isn't used to gain access to wealth through tender fraud and corruption. We need an independent admistration for government that serves all people of South Africa and not just the politically favoured. The administration personnel must be able to operate without fear or favour and stick to the rules regardless. They should be protected from political interference because they serve EVERYBODY. No person hired in Administration should be able to run a business simply because it can be a way in for corruption. Being a government employee should be viewed as a career and not merely a job working 9 to 5. Much like doctors and nurses were seen as people who's calling was to care for the sick no matter the pay, so should government employees view work in the government. We need to bring back pride and prestige into the civil service where it belongs.
