These fans do great open air like this, but i'd like to see them hooked up to 8'ft of duct like it would be if installed in my kitchen.

Looks like an 8 inch fan, those can move about 4-800+ CFM of air. They do great hooked up to a 8 foot tube or longer.

I have this exact fan. Theyre not efficient at all... i have 2 of these and theyre crap compared to other fans out there.... Theyre cheap. Thats why you buy it.

These are known as mixed flow fans, they aren't near as good as an inline fan that uses a centrifugal reverse curve blower wheel, and would also have much higher static pressure.

If you put a tube after the fan does it increase thrust? Like if you put an infinitely long tube after a fan does that increase the thrust. Not the forward momentum of the system but the ability for the propeller to pull itself further within the system

It wont. Adding tube to the front and back will decrease noise substantially. You also want to add longer tube to the front, and the shortest tube possible to the back so the air is sucked and not pushed through.

I did it and so have many others. Ac infinity brand. You need enough cfm for at least 30 air changes hr. (Ft³ × 30) ÷ 60 minutes. You need to evac from ceiling out the roof. Even then you will have smoke 'dissolve' that doesn't immediately get pulled out. So the room will smell and you have to run the fan a good amount of time after done smoking.. but it does keep it out of the rest of the house.

most of those type fans info are: diameter 10cm (4in), 25w, 200m3/h (120cfm) diameter 12cm (5in), 40w, 300m3/h (180cfm) diameter 15cm (6in), 75w, 500m3/h (300cfm) diameter 20cm (8in), 120w, 900m3/h (530cfm)

@@Smokemahoun Nope, info is correct. this is default for all duct fans, also you can get PRO versions that have approx 20% better of moving air

@@cudasteam BullS#!t. Once you hook this to an actual duct there is only so much volume of air C.F.M. that you can move through the tube and your figures are WAAAY off. -- eg. 6" round metal duct has a max of 115 CFM.
