My dad built about 50 homes on Mercer Island in the late 60's early 70's and they were about 80 to 100k, now the median home price is about 2.3 Million.

Mercer Island is a high price property area. Limited road access surrounded by Lake Washington. The house Dom showed is a late 1950's early 1960's house. Problably was one of the first homes built on the island. House is most likely 10% of the market value, with the rest being the land itself.

People just need to realize that stuff needs to get done to build and replace roads etc. As for state government 🤦🏻‍♂️. As you might know by now the check engine light automatically turns off so that you don’t become complacent and forget so it will intermittently come back on so it still needs to be cleared.

Do you guys use "shakers" on your beds? You install it underneath, and you can turn it off & on from the cab. It can jar anything loose if it's stuck. Some of us here in PA used them for coal or stone. That thing was loud, but in the winter time, it was a God-send. I had a high plastic bed liner in mine, but I don't think it was meant for what I hauled in it.

That island is a pain in the ass to deal with. I worked for republic services and we had the Mercer Island contract for years and a lot of the driveways are glorified sidewalks. Houses down on the water have driveways covered by trees and get no sunshine so they get moss covered and in the winter when it’s raining and wet, they are slick as hell. We had little international rear loaders for the island and they would constantly get stuck. When the contract was up a few years ago, we put in a bid that basically handed it to one of the other refuse companies and wished them good luck. lol not fun at all.
