Nike Pegasus 41 review - first run and first impressions. It’s been a while since we tested out a road running shoe from Nike but we’re back today with the latest version of their very popular neutral daily trainer the Pegasus 41. The shoe has gone through quite a few big update this time round, one of which is a new blend of Nike’s React foam cushioning called React X. In this video I give you the low down on the latest Pegasus and I lace them up and take them out for their first run on the roads of Cornwall.

Thanks for the review Lloyd, some interesting insights. A good point that we are probably getting used to the spring in the ‘supershoes’ and sub consciously expect it in our everyday shoes. My favourite Pegasus version by far was the ZoomX foam versions. Cheers Mate 👊🏻

I've had two versions of the Peg and wasn't impressed with either, nothing I have seen in any review of the 41 has made me want to try them out. I know the Superblast are expensive but hey cover so many bases and are the epitome of the word versatile, I have run around 350 mile sin mine and they are still going strong!

Love the colour of them. Been a hoka clifton guy for a while. I think the last pegs I had were the 37.

I looked at the Peg 41 with intent, but the Vomero 17 looked better. So many quality road shoes to choose from atm. Ended up buying a Nimbus 26 TR for those long and lazy road and trail runs.

Thanks Loyd. Is that K-tape you often wear on the sides of your lower legs? I experienced pain and soreness there after running - not always, mind - does it help? I have been doing stretches, calf wedges, calf raises, Tibialis raises (weighted) etc over 18 months (see Kneesovertoesguy) but it does not appear to improve matters. Also, Nottingham Forest? Did you grow up in Nottingham, Loyd before Cornwall?

Travis, what is the actual stack of sgʻ 6 lot of other reviews quoting 40 /35 mm Which seems big increase from old models 32/28 mm Great review

The stack height is definitely not 40/35, that’s super shoe territory! I wish there was that depth of cushion under the forefoot, it have given the shoe a bit more bounce 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the review, thanks for watching 🙏

Thanks Loyd😎I´m a big fan of the react midsole but it's not good news that you feel the shoe is a bit narrow. I don't experience that the fit of Nikes trail shoes are always narrow, actually I would say the opposite

I suppose it depends on how wide your foot is? I’ve never struggled with the Nike fit but their shoes do tend to be narrow and shallow in the toe box 👍

ReactX isn't even a new foam, it's just injection molded vs. compression molded.

Very few foams are "new". Most are just a different method.

Same boring old Pegasus shoe still behind the competition. How can Nike say there's 27mm in the forefoot. Nike should do away with the stupid pods and sort their foams out.
