My rent just increased by $200 again. For the third year in a row. Thats an extra $600 a month. Groceries and utilities are up 20 - 40% across the board. We're drowning out here.

I’m 70 years old on fixed income , I pay attention to grocery prices when I shop , I’ve noticed at least 50% rise in prices last 3 years , soft dinks up 100% . I have money left over at end of month thank god , I feel for families trying to make ends meet .

My grocery bill to feed 6 people was 280 to 290. Now, my grocery bill for the same food and items are 510 average now. So the Government is lying about only a 2% increase in food prices.

I've seen ONE price improvement in food at my local grocery store: King crab legs were down from $130 to $65, which is still higher than they were in 2019.

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The gaslighting and lying by both parties are out of control. When the rich have so much to spend, inflation continues, but the vast majority of us have no spend to contribute to this on going inflation. The idea we get higher wages leading to more inflation is just further gas lighting. How dumb do they think we are?

This is a very misleading statement. Think about how expensive things were in 1776.... so pre ww2 spending is very easy outprinted. We used to have 5 and dime stores now we have dollar stores.

We have loan officers celebrating on other platforms saying there will be one rate cut based off of the dot plot. How are they celebrating lol. Theu went from 3 to 1 cuts(forecasted). So it's likely there won't be any rate cuts like you said.

100%. Two years ago it was transitory. Last year it was 6-7 cuts in ‘24. In Q1 it was three cuts. Now its one. It’ll be zero in Q4.

@Gus_Magnus Food is not up because interest rates are up. That makes no sense. Interest rates put downward pressure on borrowing. Inflation is up because of the 0.25% interest rates we allowed in 2020-2021 that financed the $8 Trillion the FED print. Inflation is sticky because people and companies are resorting to higher levels of speculation and gambling.

I went to Wendy’s last night to get dinner for me and my girlfriend two large meals cost us 28$ and the quality was terrible as well as cold. people wonder why I support my local Chinese restaurant I get two plates of food for 20 bucks. Quality is great and the amount of food you get is even better. Even they are slowly increasing prices everything is sad.

Yeah prices are insane. I suggest Arby's this week they have a limited 5 for $5 but you have to pay on the app to get that. other than that use McDonalds and their app always has good deals and cheap food.

I think you mean the Government, because the Fed sets the monetary policy. The Government spends the money causing inflation. The Fed tries to "save" the day, but without the Government actually cutting back there will be no end in sight until a collapse of the economy, which most argue will not/can not happen.

The printing is only part of the problem. We don't have a grounded middle class anymore, we have an upper 1% that is exorbitantly rich, an upper 10% that is spending like drunken sailors, and an upper 30% that has more money than they know what to do with. It’s crazy for government to think that 2% pay raise is within the reasonable limit for government people. I have friends in private sector who are getting 5 to 8% pay raise due to inflation. I have to cut back on lot of things just so I can pay my mortgage and bills on time. No subscription, cook at home so on.
