High Lifter Mud Nationals - Hillarosa ATV Park - Drone View (DJI MAvic Air)

4 жыл бұрынI wanted to share a different view of when we went to Mud Nationals 2019. There is plenty of footage from back in April when the videos were uploaded from the trip...though with Mud Nationals 2020 approaching, I wanted to share some little tid bits from our experience.
Feel free to ask any questions you might have, as not everything was covered from the drone, at least not everything that I would have covered after having some experience flying the drone. I.E. location of showers, concert stage, check-in booth, etc.
FYI...the county in which Mud Nationals is located in is a DRY COUNTY. So if you plan on drinking some drinks while you are there. Make sure you stop and stock up well before hand in a County that isn't DRY. Trust me...I found out the hard way and drinking Malibu is not my first choice by any means but sometimes you have to take what you can get!

It was big, but not many trails to ride. It was mostly open field. The old place was way better!

Love that birds-eye view with the drone. I want to say the park is 2500 acres or at least that is what was open to the event. As Mark said...there wasn't a lot of trails there for riding. When the original plans for Mud Nats started....it was for the old park and when the news was dropped that they closed the park...I almost cancelled the plans to go. Definitely glad I didn't as I met some truly awesome people there...as in all the parks we went to on that trip. When it comes down to mud parks...the South is truly where it is at!

@mark minyard Agreed...the original plans that were started with Shorty were for the old park. Man, it pissed me right off when the news came out that the old park was closing. How is the Rene coming along?

I was talking about going this year but I opted for a snowmobile trip in Norway/Sweden this year with the sponsor. Hard to say no to an opportunity like that one! I will be coming back that is for sure. This time it will be with two machines because I ain't driving 30 hours one way to sit there with a thumb up my butt. 😂😂😂

I don't remember what the exact number was. I heard everything from 15,000-25,000 people. Though not all were camping on site...that is still a shit ton of people in one single area! lol. Let's just say where we were...we never saw sleep earlier than 4:00AM!

Was a good time. Would be saweettt if we could get one large group trip planned to go to a large event like this. Everyone east of Virginia and whoever else to tag along. Would make one Hell of a caravan on the way down! Mud nats 2022? 🤔

That’s a Texas sized 10-4 right there. How many do you think we could gather together for such an adventure 🤔 Mud Nats 2021 or at least one that is putting on mudda cross as I just learned HL isn’t holding it this year...doing dirt track races instead.

That drone saved us like 5-6 hours of being stuck waiting in line. lol. Would be nice to see some Polaris show up...I just found out they got rid of the mud race and are doing a track race now. You would have thought that being a mud race and a HL event...there would have been a few last year! Let's just say it was truly a CanAm Vs. CanAm race...the kitty's weren't doing so hot that day...maybe why they are getting out of the game 😜

@@markminyard4874 I dunnnno about all that. lol. Polaris can produce some serious power. Just gave to have the clutching, reduction, and tuning in the right place. One of these years...I am thinking I might just have to enter in as an amateur for shits and giggles. Need to start a small team though. lol

The drone by far has been my favorite purchase for video. So much so that I essentially bought two of them. Lost my first one and bought the second half price thanks to the customer service I found at DJI. I probably should do a video on how great they were to work with without a great deal of detail. lol. I wanted to get some sled footage with the drone with year but never happened to get that done at home. I will definitely be getting some when I am over in Noway though! We just found out that we will be going out to test some of the new Matryx chassis sleds!!!! 😯😯😯

Thanks Man! I do wish I was going again but I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to go snowmobiling in Norway/Sweden. It is going to be SICK! I just learned they took out the mudda cross this year and replaced it with a dirt track! Not sure how fun that will be to watch but I guess we will see when the videos come out! I will be going back again though...thinking maybe next year or at least definitely going to Texas next year for sure. Unless I am able to just move there as I am looking into! How long of a drive is it for you to Mud Nats?

It really is such a cool perspective. Especially at events like this...where most all the footage you see is of on the ground. Once you have seen the footage on the ground and then get to see some from up above...it gives you a totally different outlook on everything there is to see there! After I lost my first drone it just about killed me but I was able to work with DJI on getting it replaced and I am one happy customer and a DJI drone owner for life after that experience.

North Country Boyz We have had some flooding and actually got 5 inches of snow the other night that was nice for a change but hope the rivers and swamps return to normal soon. Looks like y’all got a lot of snow hope you have weathered through it ok. How is it up your way?

Did you ever go to mud nats when it was held at Mud Creek in Jacksonville Texas? Honestly this place looks like a great big CF.

Brian, I have not! The plans for this trip all started out because of the original park though. I started talking to SwampAss and the Cau-cajun a couple years ago. Conversation went back and forth on some ideas. The original plans were to go to Mud Creek for Mud Nats. Though about 4 months into the planning of the trip....it was announced that it was going to be postponed and then found it was going to be in Arkansas. Ultimately the trip ended up happening anyway and I am glad it did. The only thing I wish I would have changed is coming down alone, skipping Hillarosa and going to River Run for their event, as well as checking out some other parks. I like to have a good time and get rowdy...but I am past the Mud Nats kind of rowdy. 6-8 years ago by all means I would have been out there making them question how well they could handle their own. Heck I probably still could but I prefer doing that from the comfort of my zero gravity chair, a fire, and some music. HAHAHA

Funny...I had someone tell me that they were into "mud riding" a long time ago but the "sport was dying out"....like pardon me?! You must not get online very often or get that far away from home then 😂 Ummm...the sport has literally been nonstop growing over the last 10 years with no signs of slowing down AT ALL. lol. The distance is the only kicker...28 hours of driving isn't bad when you can split it off with some people but doing it all on your own can be tiresome!

@@NorthCountryBoyz Yeah most definitely. The mud riding sport is most definitely getting bigger. Can Am and Polaris wouldn't be making mud specific machines if the sport was dying out. And yeah the long drive by yourself not only is difficult it can be dangerous. This year I'm going to FRCC but luckily that's just the next province over for me.

780 Aleks one thing is for sure. I have made it clear to Osta I’m coming that way to kick his ass. I might die trying but it’s going to happen. New scrambler is heading that way to play and take on the giants. Lol. If I kill the scrambler I will at least have the sportsman left to play so we can go for a rip 🤣

Unfortunately I will not be there this year. I am heading to Norway/Sweden to go snowmobiling. Just happened to be the plans for that trip overlapped with Mud Nats. I do plan on being there next year though. Also working on a transfer to Texas for work. If that happens...I will be attending any main event I can get my ass to. lol 😎
