That's great! My 2012 is about to hit 100k miles . It's nice to hear these cars can last a long time with proper maintenance.

My 2011 E350 is now on 220,000 runs like new.

@@desmondjenkins7361 Ah but a word of caution, my oil cooler went at 170k and one injector has just started leaking. I drove 8,000 miles on the oil cooler leak until it became a proper nuisance. It cost me £1100 for brand new cooler, seals, new thermostat (as was beginning to fail) and dpf sensor. Car has never ran anything but perfect even with the leaks At some stage you'll definitely get oil cooler leak or leaking injector seals - it's just a feature of the Om642

Mercedes doesn’t warranty the rear subframe here in the US… seems like more and more of this particular generation are disappearing from the roads on a daily basis in rust prone areas.

Only if your w212 is 10years or below... If it is 11year old since it was registered in Europe you are in for very very bad surprise financial wise :-/

They hold up as well as the owner allows. It will never be a cheap car to operate and keep in top shape because its a Mercedes E class but they don't just break either. Those years had some problems but the repairs are upgraded parts that last. Injectors for the most part. Also the rear subframe which can be on warranty for 20 years. Mine was replaced this spring under warranty. In ten years I replaced one injector, the main turbo feed pipe and an O2 sensor. When Mercedes did the subframe, I bought all new joints, arms and shocks to take advantage of the warranty labor. That makes a ten year total of around 4k over annual maintenance and normal wear outs on a 70k dollar car.

No Gasoline W212 is awefull as it has timing chain problems The diesel ones, 220cdi had recall on injectors and got refitted with different style and return lines... The rear subframe rust no matter what as there is rust inside the Steele...so wax doesn't help W212 was a light desaster from quality standpoints, yes it is no Vito or previous e class with bacteria in paint and rust all over the body. But far cry from W123 201, 202, 210, 204 average stand up quality to time and wear

Baseline W202 C200 with automatic and ac, central locking... No extras 884.000km when the engine was struggling and sold to Romania :-) 3rd Timing chain every 200k Km changed, diffoil and gearbox oil regular same engine oil every 10k.

I loved my W124 , it was my first ❤. Had it for 416K until my harness went bad. I currently have a w212 with 106k and it's a great car, probably my last car. I just changed the alternator myself and it was very easy, next I'm doing the transmission service. Good luck and keep driving 😊

Haven’t had any of those issues. I’d have a transmission service done at the dealer or a good shop.

My E350 has this! Occasionally on acceleration it sometimes feels like the wheels are slipping and I also have a very faint kind of ticking noise from a wheel at wheel speed which I've had for the last 40,000 miles lol - it obviously isn't something major.

It is for us in the States on a gasoline Mercedes that still has plenty of life.
