Hi Jake, Ford County Feeders took in 3 million bushels this year. Lane County Feeders south of Cimarron take HMC yet but I do not know how much. Love the process myself. Didn't make it out this year. One day they dumped 300 semis this season.

That would be cool. However, the combines are pretty scattered out. This corn comes in over a pretty large area.

I am not sure actually. Grain comes in from up to 60 miles away. Farmers sell their grain here for all sorts of reasons including: the price can be a few cents better than cash. Others have enough acres of corn planted they will harvest corn at high moisture as a way to spread out the harvest window.

Sorry I missed your comment. I forget how many tons per hour. On a busy day they can have 250 semis dump corn in the pits.

Semi trucks need to dump faster than grinder can handle it, so conveying directly to grinder does not work. They have already built a high platform so trucks can dump fast and pit itself acts as holding bin. To build a conveyor system to eliminate end loader would not be cost effective. Plus, this pit is one of seven. Moving endloader pit to pit is far quicker and simpler than a moving a conveyor system.
