🚀 High-Performance Coaching Workshop 🚀
Hosted by ICU Association and Master Trainer ICU & PhD, Michael Williams
🌐 Event Description:
Coaching is a psychodynamic experience enabling high performance through self-awareness and the capacity to change. The psychological phenomena of transference, resistance, and repetition compulsion are central to enabling self-awareness and resulting in change. Foundational to the psychoanalytic work of Freud, Margolis, and Spotnitz, these three dimensions are present throughout the coaching experience, continually influencing which strategies, theories, models, and tools coaches employ to enable coaching effectiveness toward achieving agreed-upon goals.
This presentation introduces, defines, and operationalizes transference, resistance, and repetition compulsion within coaching engagement. By understanding and recognizing the presence, power, and potential inherent in these psychological phenomena, coaches and coachees can increase their productivity, resulting in high performance.
💡 Highlights:
1. Recognize the cognitive and emotional presence of transference, resistance, and repetition compulsion.
2. Identify the roles, functions, and influence of transference, resistance, and repetition compulsion in progressing toward goal achievement.
3. Evaluate the Silent Coach Approach to collecting data indicating the influence of transference, resistance, and repetition compulsion associated with goal achievement.
4. Provide literature recommendations for further study of transference, resistance, and repetition compulsion.
