The parallel hybrid driveline is a cost-effective solution with exceptional customer value. With this hybrid form, the combustion engine and electrical drive unit are placed in parallel and both act directly on the driveline. The big advantage: It requires only one electrical motor that gets by on moderate electrical power.

The best and most efficient plus cheapest and simplest powertrain for both ICEs and EVs is the Positive Drive Infinitely Variable Transmission, PDIVT. The power transmission starts from the center of input shaft and shifts ouwards as the vehicle has gaining more speed. It offers what CVT can do but in positive drive. And starting from center of input shaft. This is the best solution for heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses as well as hypercars, sedans and motorcycles. The world needs innovation and breakthrough in technologies. Make a change if we care about emissions and global warming. Because the PDIVT powertrain will greatly improve the efficiency of transmitting power from engines to wheels. And this will save fuel and energy causing less emissions issues.

This era is of hybrid but certainly super hybrid, the casing of transmission is safer than wheels and axles Jones, astronomical cooling required around the electric hub, great mechanism.

welcome to 2022 and the 4th generation of this is ready to ship and it's pancake motor makes a whopping 340ft lbs of torque

Some parallel hybrids use the electric motor only for reverse operation. Is this configuration this way or can it combined with the ICE as well? You mentioned I believe that it contains a cane type fluid pump as well as the electric pump, with heat generated inside the clutch packs, which pump provides cooling? Just curious unless it is covered by intellectual properties. Thank for allowing learning to occur! ASE Master Tech since 1978. PS; I find the animation well done, so tell that department my enjoyment. I won’t name the company but I was introduced to the younger gentleman creating an automatic animation for a manufacture. After our group had asked some questions, I asked him if he knew how the transmission worked! He hesitated, then replied “No”. As an experienced service tech over decades, I was say, taken back by the thought. Thanks again.

Is this parallel hybrid driveline used the in BMW X5 xDrive40e (2014-2018)? xDrive45e (2022-)? If yes, in which other BMW models and years is it used? Is there a list or reference available? Thx,

Since ZF's transmitions are used in almost wvery modern BMW I think that this tech is used in all their hybrid cars. I know that it it used in x5 45e (and the newer 50e) and I have to say that it works perfectly, you never notice when it is switching from ICE to EM and vice versa.
