iCarly is GOATED. We grew up with them since we were basically almost the same age as them.

I don't know what you think as a principal, but I was always annoyed about how in kids tv and teen sitcoms they always refused to fire bad/mean teachers like the ones in iCarly

The students wanted to get revenge on Superintendent Gorman for firing Principal Franklin, and making him ride the mechanical bull was his punishment. They partied around the school hall as a sign of not listening to Ms. Briggs or Mr. Howard and wanting Principal Franklin back. They got revenge on Gorman for getting Franklin fired, they got revenge.

Snapping turtles are illegal to own in Washington (the show takes place in Seattle), so they’d get in especially big trouble for having it on school property. Who knows how they even got one? Maybe they bought it on the black market.

The pilot episode of iCarly is also school-related. Fantastic beginning to the series!

Back in middle school, there was a vote sent out to the parents to decide if the school should enforce uniforms, and all the votes were "No." Except for my mom, who voted "Yes," when I didn't want them. Suddenly, every school bully decided that was enough to think abusing me was justified. Middle school was a real catastrophe.

There was this live action sitcom on Disney Channel called ANT Farm, where the principal of the school in that show was named Ms. Skidmore, and she was literally Ms. Briggs from iCarly because same actress: Mindy Sterling. Let’s just say that’s what would have happened to Ms. Briggs if she switched schools and took Principal Franklin’s place.

I didnt have a uniform in elementary school, but went to a parochial middle and high school, so I did wear a uniform grades 6-12. The first couple months kinda stink, but after a while, they just sort of become a part of life and you dont really think about it anymore.

This is a later season. Some Flanderization has taken place by this point in the show, but to be honest it’s mostly hit the main characters and the plots themselves, the bad teachers were this bad almost from the start.

I saw something kind of like Principal Franklin’s stunt with the pants in the ninth Captain Underpants book. It involved George disguising himself as a pair of pants for a prank. (He wouldn’t stick his head out the zipper hole, but he would still use it to see.) Given that he’s just a kid, the only way it could work is by nailing the pants to a pair of stilts and walking on the stilts. The book also establishes that he once had an Afro, and he got a haircut to pull off the trick effectively (because otherwise he’d look like an Afro with two legs), which is the origin of his iconic flat-top.

23:32 I remember having a teacher who got surgery that had a side effect of always making her look ticked off even when she wasn’t. The principal telling that kid to get his money back is highly discriminatory to people like that teacher I was talking about, and I cannot believe he would ever say that.

I remember being called down the prinicipals office in Highschool, I totally thought i was in trouble. But when i got there, i was told that one of my teachers picked me out of her 4 students in her class to have a pizza party with the principal. it was fun. I can relate on the being scared after being called down the principal office.

Ohh, iCarly is a wonderful idea! It has plenty of School stuff. Victorious too. I totally recommend the series. I can't name any particular episode to react to, but the series is full of school and teacher related topics. Edit: Okay, the very first Episode of iCarly should be interesting.

Growing up I associated school uniforms with the expensive private schools on TV. Meanwhile I and everyone my age I knew went to public school and none of us wore uniforms, so I always assumed that sort of thing was only allowed in private schools.

So, when I saw the video title, I was surprised we were getting iCarly so soon, and at the start of the video, I wondered why so many people were asking for this episode specifically. As soon as I saw the giant pants, I thought, "Oh... I remember this episode now." This is just a theory, but I always assumed the mean teachers bribed the superintendent to become the co-principals, and maybe even showed the superintendent the video that got the principal fired

I remember how I once had a principal leave midway through the school year for undisclosed reasons. When he was gone, one of the assistant principals took his place for the rest of the year, and he even got offered to be principal the next year.

Not just the big microphone on the desk, but at my elementary school's office, I also saw this enormous control panel with little tiny mikes for each individual room, and you tilted one to page that room. Even had a cassette player! (not that I ever saw it used)

Freddie usually gets framed at school for crimes that Sam committed, and the teachers are too rude to not let him explain that he’s innocent and to clear his name. But I’m sure the school has security cameras and Principal Franklin would find out that Sam is the guilty one and that she framed Freddie.

I was a substitute teacher last year (I quit to start student teaching). I remember most schools I subbed at the dress code was pretty lenient. However, I did sub at one school district where the dress code was entirely principal-based and solely up to the principal. I remember the middle school had a very lenient dress code for students and teachers, whereas at the high school the students dress code policy was basically a “as close to a uniform without having a uniform so we don’t have to provide extra resources” kind of thing and me as a teacher, I basically was forbidden to wear anything other than a suit (I’m male). I understand that’s not common, but there are schools where the dress code policy can be entirely up to the principal. Personally, I don’t like it. 😂

I remember always getting worked up about getting called to the front office. More often than not, I wouldn’t be in big trouble, but I always worried about that.

I had a School Uniform in Elementary School but students had an uniform for students to were, but it was an option for a student to wear. It was light blue shirt, Navy Blue Pants, Black Sweater Vest, and a Navy Blue Tie. I wore it to school each day. And the District I went to school only had uniforms for Elementary Schools K-8, High Schools didn't have any school uniforms.

We had uniforms all the way from grade school to high school although during senior year ever Friday we could wear whatever. But otherwise every day uniform unless it was home coming week or something

Locking up the principals in their office seems pretty heavy to me. I always wondered what has to happen to get an expulsion from school. In my school there were also some pretty bad things that happened. One student insulted the teacher in a very bad way and nothing happened. Another thing that happened was a firecracker that was ignited on the floor and there was a situation in which a student threatened the teachers life. Did you ever had an expulsion in your school? And how do you treat situations like the ones I mentioned?

I’ve never had to wear a school-administered uniform. I’ve only ever worn uniforms for organized groups such as sports teams or elective students at an event.

I’ve heard of something kind of like those two pictures in many North Korean schools. However, instead of depicting former administrators, the pictures always depict Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il because they were the leaders before Kim Jong-un rose to power in 2011.

One of the things about iCarly to keep in mind is that it's written to be over the top (within age appropriation for its target audience. You won't see, for example, South Park level over the top here). There's no way most of what happens in this show would be going on or acceptable in real life. It's part of what make iCarly, iCarly. Where I live are school was in small village so it was pretty common for us to see are teachers out of school and it wasn’t uncommon for students to go to teachers houses because there were friends with the teachers kid and it wasn’t uncommon for teachers to go to students houses because they were friends with the students parents

Hey Brandon, I understand if after a little bit of research, you cannot find enough reason to talk about these episodes, but I wanted to recommend of episodes _Danny Phantom_ in case you’re unaware, it’s a show that a high school kid who’s half boy & half ghost. The first episode I would like to recommend, is called, “My Brother's Keeper“. Without giving away too much, Danny is sent to the guidance counselor office, because his older sister, (nicknamed “Jazz”) is worried about his mental/emotional state. It’s also the school spirit week that week in the second one, “Beauty Marked”,, one of Danny’s best friends, Sam enters a beauty pageant with other girls-which, he’s either a judge or the judge for. (The pageant is a school event.) as I know your channel is reacting to school related stuff, I thought of these episodes. I understand, if you find you can’t react to these. But I just thought I’d give it a try, as this was one of my favorite childhood shows!

I saw that you reacted to Diary Of A Wimmpy Kid. If you plan on reaching to school related movies again then I suggest you react to the Harry Potter series. But mostly the first 2 movies. The whole series is about a school that is magical which students are teachers who are magical and the students learning magical spells and other school stuff.

I don't have any experience working in schools, but school handbooks, from my understanding, typically forbid talking back to or disrespecting teachers, but they don't always clearly define what that constitutes. Would this, in theory, give a teacher the loophole to give detention for basically any reason, so long as they are able to label said thing as a form of disrespectful conduct? How does that work at the schools you've worked at?

I seem to recall this one time in eighth grade when one of my teachers publicly read a universal message sent by the principal to the whole class. I don’t remember the primary contents of the message, but I do know that the message was apparently closed with a notice that students were now required to wear uniforms starting the following week. I completely forgot about that until that Sunday, but after communicating with my parents, they couldn’t find any uniform pieces for sale on the school’s website, and when I returned that Monday, nobody was wearing the exact same thing, so I pretty much figured out that the thing about the uniforms was a scam. A bunch of other students who remembered the message’s closure caught on as well.

I used to watch the show when it first aired and I’ve been watching it a lot lately I went through my phase of liking Miranda Cosgrove who played Carly, Shea when I was in high school and I got into her cause I saw that she sang the theme song and Jennette McCurdy who played Sam Puckett was also was 😊one of my other idol Her story is pretty sad. If you haven’t got a chance to read a book it’s pretty sad what she went through. I still watch the show from time to time and I love it very much and I love your reaction it’s classic.

In my opinion I think firing the principal in the first place was harsh, he should have been given a suspension for at least a week or lesser punishment. As for the principal would it had been better if he had talked to Spencer( Carly's brother) and her friend's parents and arranged a party attendance to meet his daughter for her birthday instead?

I never forget Miranda Cosgrove because she really grew on me when I was regularly watching Drake & Josh. Unfortunately, I ended up not really paying attention to iCarly because it seemed more like a young teen and girl-oriented show to me at the time, and the title was strange to me too. Anyway, now that I've seen some of an episode for the first time (this one), it definitely looks like it was a show that had a lot of fun things for its primarily young audience. I'll be honest, I actually thought that "co-principals" could be a thing, so it was definitely enlightening to hear about the intricacies of power structure in a school from your experience. I've also developed an interest in the roles of superintendents because of your Simpsons videos and this one now
