I went to Aviation HS in NYC, and for about 30% of people in my school, they come from far away places like the bronx and long island. They have to be awake and traveling by 4:30 or 5 if they even hope to reach school by 7-8 am. For them, 6am isnt bad at all.

Idk if anyone will notice this comment but it will definitely vary from person to person - I had the dead opposite results where highschool felt awful and grinding but college actually feels LOADS more balanced + social + easier to accomidate my sleep schedule around, so who knows! You may also end up enjoying the differences of college more than HS, it just depends. :) (Best of luck to those just starting / about to start college soon btw! 🎉✨)

Although archaic, it’s actually correct. The origin is from the Romans. If the emperor thought you did a good job he would stick his thumb down to signal you to go back to your cell and recover. If the emperor thought you did a bad job, he would stick his thumbs up as a way of saying “you’re getting executed”. For some reason, these interpretations flipped somewhere along the line.

Highschool absolutely sabotaged my mental health because my parents could see every single grade and what assignments I didn't get perfect. In college I have nobody breathing down my neck about my assignments being perfect and I'm much happier in college, having the freedom to learn what I want whenever I want and talk to whoever I want to, compared to highschool where everything is determined for you except only being allowed to pick a single elective.

I had no intention of going to college because I jumped right into the workforce. And the best part about it all: I could save money on more pleasure things that were more enjoyable to me like traveling. College just is not worth it to me. There are so many other ways to be successful in life besides just having a degree or certification.

Wait til you’re senior because it’s easier than being a freshman because you will have less to do and you would already learn the subjects from previous years anyway but starting college is going to be like starting a new school like being a freshman but 10-100x harder if you want a PhD or master’s or bachelor’s degree.

in my high school we have to apply for clubs lol, all it is is the harder college you go to or the harder high school it gets different. In my high school its super competitive and to join clubs you got to apply to get in and its really hard to get in.

I'm sorry to break it to you but college is much more stressful than high school. The bullying part is true, but not the stress part. The professors are much less forgiving in college. Everything is up to you to do in college. Plus, college has way more homework.
