A levitating homopolar motor, this is an experiment that I did for the first time 5 years ago with great difficulty, today, with better, more powerful and copper-coated magnets I am surprised at the simplicity with which I have achieved an incredible result. The engine is so powerful that the rotor easily explodes for rotation.
These are the magnets used
Copper Coated Discs sumag.net/s-15-08-k-x01
Disc with holes sumag.net/cs-s-15-04-n-x01
Galvanized parallelepiped sumag.net/q-18-15-10-z-x01
Thanks to Supermagnete.com for providing me with these free magnets.
The polarity of the magnets near battery is very important. I try to outline the position.
S-N battery N-S (With this configuration wheel on one side)
N-S battery S-N (With this configuration wheel on the other side)
S-N battery S-N (Do Not work)
N-S battery N-S (Do Not work)
The 18650 lithium-ion battery also played a key role in making the engine reach this speed.

Ultrafire's cells are used and repacked into a new beautiful heat shrink. And it can really catch a fire if you expect a lot from this cells. Li-ion cells are produced only in large factories, in large batches for industrial applications. If industrial heat shrink replaced with branded heat shrink, it is totally pig in a poke.

It's not a main issue. If rotation direction is correct it makes screw dig into panel, so it consume some energy, but actually makes additional support for perpendicular force vectors. Main issue is that his magnet rotor is not perfectly centered and balanced, so it creates perpendicular force vectors which meanwhile brokes his rotor.

They literally emit power. Also focus radical energy in the air by the field they make. Im curious on whats happening here. Been researching magnet tech for a while. This is a new experiment concept. I have an idea positive energy is in one field. Negative in the other. Then the wire causes is to properly flow electrons based on how the wire is set in the magnetic fields.

put the entire assembly in a tube to keep it together and put some brushes against the ends. if it inevitably becomes unstable at too high of an rpm you could try using a device (like a gear box) that would move the brushes so they only come into contact with the magnets momentarily so that it can never reach the max rpm. Then it should continue to spin until the battery dies. Then you need to find a way to do that with a battery that charges inductively, and add a flywheel to store power.

You have a simple electric motor here and a magnetic bearing. But very cool looking. It fails due to centripetal force being out of round. However if you mounted the wire in the same position instead of holding it above the magnets, letting the wire rest naturally on the magnets... Then epoxied the magnets together or put them in clear thin plastic cylindrical sleeve. It would be more stable. The Sleeve version would require four pieces with space between two sections so that the wire can connect. Solid wire is probally better. To control the speed, 2-6 short strips of scotch tape could be applied around the magnets circumference to create an intermittent connection.

Great video! The high speed filming was a great share of analysis. It would be interesting to observe RPM at failure and also tackle issues with balancing. My guess for improvements without supergluing the joints or securing in some kind of wrap is to focus on balancing the battery first. I would do this by marking dashes radially around the battery and other suspect imbalances and use the high speed filming to identify weight distribution. After identifying where the wobble is coming from through high speed analysis. I’d document the max RPM before failure then use a sandable adhesive like JB weld to fine tune the balancing. It would be interesting to see how much faster it can spin before failure. I don’t know how well this would work but it sounds like a fun thing to try.

Remove the battery, retain the horizontal cylinder of magnets and levitation feature, and connect a separate electrical power source (such as output from solar panels) via the needle through the vertical wall. Regardless, to provide long-term operation, must also add adequate heat dissipation feature to the design, consistent with Lenz's Law.

Bigger magnet than the battery on both sides, both side magnets hold a copper wire(since it sticks to the battery) and it will run on its own, the next problem will be controlling (By connecting or disconnect to control the speed? Add a switch between the wire connected to both sides?)

What if you used a hair thin single copper wire and put loops on each end trial and error till you find the right gauge wire with the right weight to make it spin for a while?

Non scientist here - suppose this were precision engineered with all tolerances precisely calculated. Would it be possible to attach a dynamo and create more electric power than is held in the Duracell battery? Or would that violate some law of physics / perpetual motion?

unfortunately not, you will get less and less energy than consumed

@@MagneticGamesIT Thanks. Your video inspired me to watch many other magnet related vids on KZfaq and to do some "real" research. What I have concluded is that hiding in those magnets are the first steps towards Star Trek ! Some exotic minerals, a few groovy magnets and some imagination and WARP DRIVE is on the cards !!!

What if you glued the magnets to the battery? Also the magnets may need slightly better alignment to prevent wobble.
