Alrrrrighhtt Randi… it’s #HighsteaksReview time @prime1024steakhouse (Roslyn, NY).
Two steaks, everyone knows the rules. Porterhouse, rare as per usual. Back to the polo to avoid looking like a house.
Also… their French onion soup looked SUPERB, but it was Passover at the time so I’ll have to go back for it another day. Shit looked ridiculous.
Their porterhouse was extremely solid. They charged $155 for a ~48 oz steak (expensive). Considering that it wasn’t dry aged, it’s very very expensive relative to what’s around it. But I’ve seen way, way worse
Despite the price, the steak itself was really good. It wasn’t dry aged, so it didn’t have the depth of flavor that a Peter Luger steak has. However, for a non dry aged USDA prime porterhouse, it was one of the best I’ve had.
The filet side was also exceptionally flavorful; and filets are typically pretty bland. They also seasoned it really well. There was some pepper, but nothing crazy.
Did I add salt? Yeah. Did I have to? Honestly… probably not. The only thing lacking was the crust which wasn’t that substantial. But the interior… DAMN.
I ordered it rare, and let me say this, that was one of the best rares I’ve ever had. Actually spot on. PERFECT.
I went 7.1 on the porterhouse. An extremely high score considering it wasn’t dry aged. Although I feel like I’m giving out way too many 7.1s lately, but whatever.
7.1, prime 1024, happy pesach, I got sick of eating if we being honest, brought back the polo… that’s your review.
