Here's Episode 10 of High Street Histories, the last of a ten-part series of illustrated conversations between Ivan Bunn and Dean Parkin. Travelling back in time to explore Lowestoft's historic High Street, Ivan and Dean share stories about the buildings and shops found there, past and present.
The final episode stays in the south end of the street and looks for traces of an early cinema and visits a nearby shop that once was a 'hatter and hosiers'.
All episodes of High Street Histories have an accompanying worksheet, ideal for young people age 5-11, which can be downloaded from the Poetry People or Think Lowestoft websites: www.poetrypeople.org www.thinklowestoft.co.uk
Filmed, created and edited by Dean Parkin, the series features archive photographs from Ivan Bunn, The Jack Rose Collection, The Bert Collyer Collection.
