Welcome to Episode 4 of the second series of High Street Histories featuring illustrated conversations between historian Ivan Bunn and writer Dean Parkin, this time exploring Kirkley & the south of Lowestoft.
Episode 4 features the Kirkley shop with a connection to Emily Pankhurst and the suffragette movement and shares the history of newly renovated premises once the home of an old-fashioned drapery, followed by a family-run furnishers.

Created and edited by Dean Parkin, this episode features archive photographs from the Jack Rose Collection, the Bert Collyer Collection and from Ivan Bunn, Mick Howes and East Suffolk Council. The opening credits includes contemporary footage of Kirkley filmed by Joshua Freemantle's Sunrise Studios.
