I was highway patrol for several years before I went to traditional police work. I always thought it was insane how many hoops truckers have to jump through and then have to fight to abide by them when there aren't any places to stop and rest. My Sgt. told me one time to run the truckers off the entrance and exit ramps saying "they weren't supposed to park there" damn well knowing they didn't have any other place to stop and were just trying to do the right thing by not going over their hours. I just looked at him like he was crazy, said yes sir, and drove right by every driver resting on the ramps at night. It was always nice to deal with the actual professional drivers that took their job seriously. You represent your profession very well.

Had you gone to the Midway exit just up the road they usually open parking. Exit 115 I75/64 has McDonalds to the left off the exit and they have truck parking or along the street. Once you get on I64 there is like 4 lanes and to the right plenty parking for trucks or take the 1st exit south of the split and all kinds of truck parking along all the motels and stores just to help you out next time.

I just have to hear that engine and that Jake and I can feel my blood going over my body. Just amazing

When you get passed n the gorge, it's usually by someone that runs through there regular..like that Holland truck that passed you before the tunnel.
