Tom makes a 72-break on a 147 attempt, the highest break yet beatable with a counter clearance*. We know that Ronnie loves complex challenges and instinctively raises his performance. So let's see what he does and enjoy it.
Ali Carter achieved this feat 12 years ago against John Higgins in the 2010 Welsh Open final, frame 12. He made a clearance of 73 right after a 72-break (9 reds, 9 blacks) by Higgins. There may be more cases, but no record was found.

Wow someone call the cops that was a real brutal robbery, those last shots from black to yellow and yellow to green is why ronnie will always be the greatest, he doesn’t care about anything other than seeing that last ball drop

Yhe best and worse aspect of snooker is that you can't win when you are sitting down. One missed ball and it can be over, especially against players of the calibre of ROS. Great video as usual, Cesar.

When you look at the table of multiple maximum breaks (5), it's remarkable that Ford hasn't won more than two minor non-ranking tournaments during his career. Other snooker players with 3+ maximums are all legends with multiple ranking titles.

Just to add, Desi is my favourite ref. She makes clear and quick decisions and she does not get in the way, even when Ronnie goes into Rocket mode. Of course, they are all good at this level, but she is just that little bit above IMO.

Tom Ford would be the player I'd most like to see winning a ranking tournament this year. Love his brand of snooker. We had Robert Milkins win a tournament this year... Ford underestimated Ronnie, thinking low possibility for ronnie to win being 72 points behind. Should have just forgotten about 147, play the same red but bring back the white in baulk area.

Remember where Selby made a 71 and he _knew_ he had lost the frame -- Ronnie did clear up with a great break to win it. Damned if I can remember though what year/ tournament it was...

At the 2016 Masters, Selby made a break of 70 and Ronnie cleared up but two visits later.

O'Sullivan has over 1000 centries and over a 1000 90+ breaks and yet I've seen him do 3/4 hundred breaks similar to this and he's done 15 max breaks and 11 146 breaks and he didn't go for the max on 3/4 occasions and did a maxi after asking what the prize was for one and only for the ref he was going to leave the black on the table and the fact he's won so much more tournaments and the big ones especially than any one player just showes how far ahead of the rest his prime best from 08 season especially with his next best being 12.The guy took the year off came back and won the 13 tournament also beating Trump and then beat an inspired Hawkins in the final which stat wise the match had more 50 and 60 breaks than any other world final even to this day.Thats why he's rated the greatest ever by 89% of people.

Cesar, Your sound editing is always brilliant, big fan, but for some reason, starting at @15:20, we hear the same sound bite, like "uh-huh" three times right in a row, and six times total before the end of the frame. If this were Photoshop that would be a clone tool error. Whatever led to that you might want to look out for in future videos.

It’s not the highest break made to lose a frame. Willie Thorne made 80 against the very man in the commentary box, neal foulds, only to have fouldsy get the snookers and clear up

The use of our language at times is just stupid....just below someone states that this game was a 'steal ' what a load of s**t... player one compiles a score that is thought to be a winner until player 2 has his turn and with incredible skill scores higher and wins the game...where's the steal ?
