The filming of that first scene where a transplanted Connor Macleod was having these vivid flashbacks to his first clan battle in the 1530s intercut with the current pro wrestling match in 1980s NYC was perfectly filmed as one scene segued into the other seamlessly & smoothly, with parallels made between the Scottish Highland warriors & the modern wrestling freaks. There was both a real poignancy & epic awesomeness to that scene. Anyways, what a movie, what a soundtrack, what a song, what a video!

Love the song and love the movie but the two were not released at the same time (1986 for the movie and 1989 for the song which is not in the movie). All of Queen's Highlander's songs are on the album A Kind Of Magic. 6 of the 9 songs have been written for the movie and another of them was for the movie Iron Eagle (One Vision).

if there isn't a designated theme for the Kurgen, "Gimmie the Prize", i'd say " i want it all" would be fitting as well. And, "A kind of Magic" would be a legacy theme from Ramirez to Macleod, same as " Who wants to live forever". jesus, bless Brian May's fingers -- the man has enough class elegance and poise in his styles to make Ygnwie Malmsteen feel like a skilled but aggressively showboating crude.
