In over 40 years of watching the NFL I honestly think this is the first time I have ever heard a ref specifically state that a penalty was against the head coach. Usually they announce unsportsmanlike conduct against the "sideline" or the "bench" - never heard this before.

The flag was clearly in response to the interception, thrown SO late. They also "missed" a 30 second hold on the last big third down for the Chiefs. This bias is too obvious.

Being a Seahawks fan, we lost the '06 SB to the Steelers because of the refs. One of the refs I think apologized to us after he retired. Coach Holmgren said afterwards, we were playing against both the Steelers and the Refs. It was better for the NFL business for the Steelers to win that year. Had the Hawks started their scoring early, it would've been an easy route, but Big Ben got all the calls that night. Like others have said, no it's not rigged in the sense that it's entirely orchestrated, but the refs' calls or non-calls will dictate it at the bidding of the league and what's good for business. That play is a vivid example of the whole trick of the NFL. No other professional sport is designed to be rigged in real time like American football. The rules are such that a violation is practically unavoidable on every down. The refs' job is to curate the game with what they choose to call and not to call.

This was an iffy call. But it depends on the angle you see it. It gave the Chiefs a huge break no doubt. However, there were holding calls on the Jets that went uncalled also the horse collar was not a horse collar on the chiefs. It's one thing to see the call three times in slow motion. It is something else for the refs to call them in real time at full speed.
