after 1:6 i hoped that we dont get too much goals against canada.. and then 2:6... 3:6... i thought its very nice... 4:6 i thought "wow", but never hoped for a tie or win because we play against one of the best teams in the world, so stop dreaming.. 5:6 i jumped in front of my tv and my pulse was about 160/min ... than 6:6.. i jumped, cheered and picked up my 40kg dog and danced with him.. We didnt loose in overtime -> we won 1 glorious point! Thank you team!

@vancouver1261 NHL is the only league that is still playing. And 24 out of the 32 teams are not playing. If IIHF waited for NHL to completely finish, the World Championship would have to begin in the second half of June. Most players end their season in March, so it would be 3 and a half months without playing. Great idea!

Тренировка нападения первые 2 периода, в последнем тренировка обороны. В овертайме закончили ‘игру’ за 15 секунд) но для Австрии один из лучших матчей в истории)))

Given the overall strength comparison of both teams, this has to be the biggest comeback in the last 30years (if not in the complete history) in World Championships. Probably close to 1000:1 odds at the start of the 3rd. Great work Austria!

It's very surprising how competitive the game is becoming. I was always used to Canada dominating by miles, with a few exceptions such as Russia and Team USA who were always very good. But you can see how the game is growing in other countries, there is a noticeable difference with the gap closing. Lots of talent everywhere, It's nice to see more competition!

What a nutty game. No doubt Canadians in their trademark hubris thought, that the game was already sealed, and they didn't even have to lace them up for the third. Way to show them otherwise, Austria! I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the post-game Canadian locker room. I imagine the coaching staff had a couple of choice things to say.

@@AakeTraak The "Good" players are either contending for the Stanley Cup or choose not to come to this tourney. Only 3 players on Canada's current roster are projected to be on Canada's Olympic team. The rest would not make the cut.

@@AakeTraak thats why I don't watch the Ice Hockey World Cup, the big nations (USA, Canada, sometimes Germany, Finnland, Norway, Sweden) almost never have their strongest players in their line ups and even the smaller ones can't sometimes get their best players, because the NHL Teams don't let them go there.

Canada was up 6-1. Then our defensive play and goalie fell apart. It was honestly like a curse took hold of us. Thought all our guys died or something.

i'm from austria and for us it was unbelievable what happened but the coolest thing was that all the fans went completely crazy when we made it 6-6, unbelievable atmosphere. Canada is great!!!
