@@sabredog1955 yeah, unfortunately our 3 best centers (who are all in top 5 in the world rn centers) are all in NHL playing in first field center positions so we really didn't have a great attack players expect Rantanen.

Idk why did they play Larmi the whole tournament. In the first games you could clearly see that He was unsure and didn't do well enough. I was wishing for Heljanko to be in the goal, chl and finnish champion so idk wtf were our coaches doing

Finland was better team to hold the puck and make games. They just cant score when there is chance. Canada does goals when they have opportunity. But its hockey and goals wins the games. gratz to Canada. Deserved win.

Jalonen has been our best coach ever, 3 finals in a row with 2 golden medals. The strategy may be boring but it has been working. Its way too early to write something like this. Keep some respect for him!

He has been so succesful recent years that it's getting harmful. And how about passion, after the game Jalonen was interviewed and he didn't look like he was disappointed or anything. Overall seen, this tournament was very weak and looked like Finland wasn't hungry enough or something.

These type of things don't usually stick, unless their entire hockey programme gets better. It's probably a fluke.

Nah man, you lost to Canada, that's still respectable...no shame on that one. Sweden lost to _Latvia._ In an elimination game. I was _stunned_ when I found out - this is one of the biggest upsets in the history of the tournament (even considering that Sweden did not have a great team this year). Canada underestimates Latvia in the semifinal at their peril - this is a team with adequate NHL experience (6 players on Latvia have played at least one regular season game in the NHL), and considerable KHL experience (SO many Latvian players played in the KHL before the Russian government started to base their foreign policy on Putin's fever dreams, and the few that remained left their respective teams just as Dinamo Riga left the KHL in 2022). They have a home crowd cheering them on, and have only lost two games out of the 8 they've played. Also, their presumptive goaltender Arturs Silovs, has allowed just 16 goals in those games, making for a GAA of around 2.00 and a SV% of 0.926, both impressive stats considering that Latvia was ranked lower than 5 of the 8 teams against whom they competed. They gutted out a win vs. the dominant Swiss largely BECAUSE of Silovs, and he was even more critical a part of the victory in the QF yesterday (stopping 40 of 41 shots). They absolutely CAN beat Canada. That said, if they do, it will easily top their upset victory vs. the Swedes. Neither Canada nor Sweden has a great team this year, but Canada has looked a lot better most of the time, and all but 1 of their players are NHLers (and Fantilli will be next year). They are a much steeper challenge for Latvia, but one that can certainly be overcome.

@@VoIcanoman Canada often underestimates teams in the regular round (as they did against Norway), but not in the playoff rounds. The way they beat Czechia and Finland, no one will remember the Norway loss now. I was telling people that it didn't matter because it was a meaningless game. Only the playoff round matters if you make it that far. Canada did beat Latvia 6-0 in the preliminary game. I don't expect that big a win, but think that they will win a closer one.

Alkusarjan peleissäkin kun näytti siltä että pelataan krapulassa, oli haastattelut tasoa "hyvää tekemistä" tai "oli hienoa lentää helikopterilla Jyväskylästä tänne". Tässä pelissä nähtiin jo vähän parempaa kiekkoa, mutta loppupelistä tuli niin kiire että homma meni epätoivoisten pitkien syöttöjen ruikkimiseksi. Hyvä että hävittiin. Oli aika saada vähän korville.

Norway played good to win that game against Canada. But, I agree. Too many people were complaining about the Canadian team. I too was telling them that the regular round doesn't matter if they lose a game or two. Canada always steps up their game in the playoff round. Now, they just need to beat Latvia and they are in the gold medal game. The preliminary round loses will now be forgotten. It will likely be Canada vs. USA for the gold. Either team could win.

Olisi luullut että heljanko pääsee pelaamaan edes unkari pelin... Tämän lisäksi samat miehet taas kisoissa. Vaikea se on samoilla miehillä jatkaa menestyksen tekoa vuodesta toiseen, se on nähty monissa lajeissa

Tää koko turnaus meni 100% Jalosen piikkiin, ei Rantasen tai muiden NHL pelaajien, vaan Jalosen... Meiän pelityylin on kehityttävä ja myös pelaajien on pikkuhiljaa jo vaihduttava... Sen takii ois ihan kiva piristys jos Jalonen jäis pois seuraavista kisoista.. Ihmiset on ihan kujalla nykysin kaikesta, ne luulee et änäripelaajat on ongelma kaikessa eikä kiinnitä ollenkaa huomiota esim meiän pelityyliin mitä ne NHL pelaajat ei oo tottunu pelaa ollenkaa, sellast nössökiekkoo se on ja siinä Jalonen on hyvä.
