I was there and it was crazy. The energy of the fans, the performance of both teams, overall just an amazing game. Too bad it sold out. Well at least some people can watch it at home.

Used to go watch games with Dad growing up at the old stadium. We’d show up early and tailgate in the gravel lot. We’d kick the soccer ball and eat snacks, and then head inside where we’d see cheerleaders, play the games they had, and find our seats after acquiring some nachos or a brat. The stadium had some folks, and the Nordecke was booming, but it was a different age. The heroes of old-Hejduk, Gavin, Moreno, Schelletto, Marshall, and Hesmer reigned supreme. It wasn’t much compared to the glitz and glam of today’s game, but to the eyes of ten year old me, it was everything. Glad the game has come so far.
