69% ball possession and so few chances and the fact we give very easy chances away is our main problem. Probs to Northern Ireland for as always giving it their all, but man we were bad, and we have been for a while now.

There were three things that I saw, the first one was obvious when you freeze the frame, Evans *WAS* offside and that is the end of it. But Evans also raised his left elbow and pushed Kjaer to to the ground. Had a defender done that to an attacker, then it would have been a penalty. Finally, Ireland's number 10 was definitely offside, but was he passive offside? If he had any influence on Schmeichel, the answer would have been not passive offside. In the end the right decision was made. Evans was offside, that is for sure.

Goal fairly overruled. Northern Ireland's captain (the one with yellow stripe on his left arm) was in offside in the moment when the free kick happened. He was the one touching the ball with a header. And I'm not Danish 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@jonnyd.2047 Idk either man, but regardless if they spent 30 seconds, or 30 years, it's still offside. They probably checked other things first, like simon kjær being pulled down, if #10 was interfering with play, before they realized the captain was offside from the freekick.

I'll bet you could call foul on 90% of free kick goals when U have 18 cameras watching the box. Dont like VAR killing the game like that, although I'll take the outcome, being Danish. But Evans should have had at least two yellows during the game, for all his dirty tricks which is exactly what VAR could bring to the game.

No, #10 was not involved in the direct play, so he was not offside. If he had received thd ball, then yes. The offside was from the Northern Ireland’s captain, who headed the ball towards Marshall.

I find it odd how he kept preaching how he chooses based on who has the most game time, and stuff, but yet, Damsgaard always finds his way into the team sheet with almost no form on club level. It's like he picks and chooses based on his Nordsjælland bias. I don't mind giving Hjulmand a second chance after the world cup disaster, but if he doesn't deliver results in the euros next year, let alone qualifying to it, he has to go, the 2020 euros magic is running out.

@@shaving_ryans_privates_4408 It´s so typical Danish, we can always muster some extra energy against the big teams, even from players who may not be in form. When it´s against less known sides that´s actually when you notice whether we have a decent national team. Currently we are not playing well against the smaller teams which means the 2020 magic is gone, some of the players seem to be playing without any confidence.

Are you blind? As a Dane the referee was allowing so much for Northern Ireland, they played dirty. The GK didn't make it much better as he was allowed to hold onto the ball for 30 seconds every time. And the goal was clearly offside, learn the football rules.

Cuz there was 3 things they needed to look for. The firste being kjær pulled down. The second when why guy hit the ball so it got reflected one from Northern Ireland was offsite so they needed to check if he had any interference. And the third was the captain being offsite which he was

@@matjocs4453 That's basically my complaint. VAR typically looks at complicated situations in reverse chronological order instead of the correct order. Had they checked if the one that headed the ball forward was offside first then the check would have been over in less than a minute.

@@russellerskine500 Another solution might be to re-introduced the linemans flag imediately when outside occurs, instead of waiting and hoping that the game wouldnt be stopped. ie, I find the new rule of letting the game play on to see if the offended team can take possession of the ball is not worth this incident.

I would not disallow that goal , the only Irish player that was offside was not interfering with play ,👇 FIFA'S DEFINITION OF INTERFERING WITH PLAY IS (playing a ball or preventing a opponent from playing the ball while in an offside position) but now referees have given the above meaning of interfering with play ,a whole new meaning 😂, Now you could be blocking a goal keepers veiw and suddenly your interfering with play ,as if fifa didn't recordnize that human beings are not transparent . By that definition even distracting the goal keeper is not interfering with pay because, YOU DIDN'T PLAY THE BALL OR PREVENT THE OPPONENT FROM PLAYING THE BALL .

The offside was when the freekick was taken. Evans was offside. Not by a lot but it is visible from one of the angles.
