I was watching this game at 3 am local time and I had tears in my eyes. There were 2 guys in the room watching and one was an AC Milan fan, and the other was me. My favourite player was/is Juan Carlos Valeron. what a gamme...I had goosebumps the entire night. The next day I wore a Depor Jersey to my class and to my surprise people didn't even know which club's jersey it was. I resigned that day that there are 2 types of people: 1 that go with the band wagon and the other that go with good football and a good system. Ah men!

Deportivo La Coruña was a force to be reckoned with in European football. At the first half of the 2000s they were regularly competing for the La Liga. On multiple occasions they finished over Real Madrid or Barcelona in the league. They were also a big threat for the top teams in the Champions League. Super Depor defeated AC Milan a couple of times in the early 2000s & reached as far as the Semifinal in the 2003/04 season. Sadly they're playing in the Spanish third division nowadays. A huge fall from grace for such a great club.

Deportivo last 90's and early 2000 were so scary in la liga and Champions with Talented players and defenders: Mauro Silva, Djalminha, Valeron, Naybet, Pandiani, Roy Mackay, Andrade, Donato, Bebeto, Rivaldo, Scaloni (actual Argentina coach), Luque, Fran, Diego Tristan, Hadji, Capdevilla (2010 world cup champion ), Molina, Pauleta, Sergio, Victor Sanchez, Songo'o, Rufai, ..... Estadio el riazor was like a cemetery for any team

He was not a well-known player outside of Spain and Uruguay, his native country. But he was a hell of a striker!! Shortly after this match, he played several seasons for my town's team (Osasuna) in Spanish 1st League and I can tell you he was one of the most memorable players we have seen over here. Not only was he a powerful and effective striker, but he was also a humble man. He always helped defend when the team needed and sacrificed himself when necessary for the good of the team. He is also remembered for the quarrel he had with Cristiano Ronaldo once when Real Madrid played in our field, when he was brave enough to stand up against the disgusting egocentric spoiled kid C.R. was (and still is). We appreciate Pandiani a lot here!

Aquella noche estaba en el estadio, ese Milan venia de ganar la champions con Kaka,Pirlo,Sevchenko,Dida etc era el mejor equipo del mundo, meterle un 4-0 era algo impensable, fue un remontada magica. In 2004, Milan won Serie A, their first in 5 years. Despite all celebrations, it was only a consolation prize after crashing out of the Champions League this way. Also, I believe this exact game became sort of a trigger for the team, which may have affected them psychologically during the second half of the Istanbul final one year later.

Depor would have gotten to the finals of the champions league if not for (FC Porto) Derlei’s penalty against them. They were awesome! Pandiani, Fran, Luque, Valeron, Makaay, Silva, Molina, Tristan, Naybet etc could take ANY TEAM to the cleaners on a good day. They took “one-touch” football to its zenith. No team plays like that again! ☹️ Viva BIAFRA!!!

The best comeback in the history of football from my personal perspective More beautiful than to match Barcelona × PSG For the sole reason is that Deportivo and was the weakest, not the strongest so winning was a miracle will not be repeated But Barcelona was the strongest party in front of PSG Even if it was the expectation that he would not qualify, but his victory was certain the presence of psychological knot with PSG against Barcelona

Real Madrid won against As Monaco by 4-2 but lost 2nd leg by 1-3 even after taking lead in early 20 minutes. . Deportivo Lacoruna did great comeback against AC Milan. Me and my brother, cousins were 100% sure that AC Milan or Chelsea could be the UCL 2003-04 winners. As Monaco did great comeback against Real Madrid and against Chelsea. The UCL final 2004 was one sided as Porto got 3-0 win against AS Monaco. . The season of unpredictable knockout stage matches results.
