I can't help but to feel that Giakoumakis would have had a much more successful tenure at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers as apposed to Big Ange. Both fantastic managers, but Rodger's game utilizes that big, strong, classic striker (Giakmuomakis) whereas Ange's game utilizes the fast paced right and left wings as well as the attacking midfielder to supply a tap in like goal for the agile striker (Kyogo).

Stephen Kenny is no doubt the worst ever coach for Ireland national team. Yet instead FAI chose to stick with him despite widespread outrage. He ruined this team despite many potential they have.

Steve Staunton was by far the worst. Don't forget we lost 5-2 away to a Cyprus team who beat nobody in those days (many of that same Irish team had beaten Cyprus 4-0 home and away only a few years before) and we got a lucky last minute goal to beat San Marino. Our results have been bad of late, but they haven't been as bad as that. That's not even getting into the players that Staunton had back then.

Cant believe that irleand got this hard group. If they are in the group where Finland or Slovakia is which are favourites for the second spot, ireland would defenetly getting lots of points. But Fifa world rankings ruins it all.

Didn't Finland beat Ireland TWICE under Kenny, including in Dublin ? Didn't Luxembourg?? Greece are 51st in the fifa rankings, only by playing Gibraltar do Ireland get any wins.

Alright I will bite. New Zealand beat Namibia 71-3 in rugby. Argentina in Soccer lost to Saudi 2-1 and won the world cup. 100 nations are capable of beating eachother. The rise of Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Armenia shows you football is the most played sport in the world. NOT fucking 10 countries who are half decent of which 7 of them can win something. When the f**k have you seen Fiji win anything of note. Greece, Denmark and Portugal have all won Euros outside of France, Germany and Spain. Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, Germany, England, France, Italy Netherlands, Croatia, Hungary have been in world cup finals I am forgetting the USSR at one point and Czechoslovakia. Not only that but you had Belgium, Bulgaria, South Korea, Turkey, Sweden. Who have made the last 4 of a World cup And Likes of Morocco, Rep of Ireland, Russia, Mexico, USA, Romania, Poland, Switzerland, Ghana All made a q/t final of a world cup.

@@hotbeefymcd8162 Collins didn't do well on the cross but watch Doherty's attempt to put pressure on Tsimikas. He makes no effort at all, it's like he was standing on the sideline having a drink of water. Ogbene lets his man go by too easily but I will let him off slightly since he is an attacking player. Doherty should have read that danger, since Tsimikas has a great delivery, and should've busted his balls to put pressure on him.

@@origenischaralampidis9378u mistaken. we need 1 Win and one draw not 2 wins.. if we beat Netherlands then a draw against France is enough to get us Qualified with 16 points instead of Netherlands who will have 15…(if Netherlands wins the last 2 matches with Ireland and Gibraltar) total 15 points instead of 16 of Greece(if Greece beats Netherlands and gets draw with France).

Explain how? The way I see it, he was let down by the style of play and his midfield.. if a ST has to come back to receive to get involved it's down to the discipline of the team not to move the ball into his space or play behind him. Look at the lack of ball behind.
