That’s why not one is advocating for him to fight the top guys, he just got to 160, he is still young and needs steady building, GBP should do what was done to Wilder with Munguia too, do like 40 fights and by that time the other guys would be older and on the way out, the newer guys would be too fresh and not ready for him.

i dont think erik morales is the right trainer tho? he wont be focusing on defense and also morales was a all out warrior in the way he fought which is also the reason why he was worn out so early in his career and didnt last long. if i were munguia i would go train with reynoso or robert garcia asap

Great fight. Only 23 years old but needs more time to improve. I can see better head movement compared to his flawed defense in his other fights, great jab output. Combinations look pretty solid, can take a punch, and from the looks of it, seems that stamina isnt the biggest issue. Like is said 23 is a solid age.

To get that mustache you gotta withstand all these low blows and back of head punches and take like 5 sec break! You have to have everyone against you but keep cool and fight fair against a cheat then you are worthy of this mustache

Manguia has a great fan friendly style and i love the way he lets those hands go when he senses a weakness.He would have to tighten up that defense against a slicker opponent but jaime proved he's got a terrific chin taking that shot from sullivan early on.

I would like to see Munguia against one of the Charlos. I always forget who’s who. How ever I do like the small changes in his fight technique. It seems like a couple more fight this year would do him well before he fight the top 4-6 fighters in his division. I would like to see his adopt a more natural bob and weave technique and a better counter punching technique along with his flurry of combos. He was able to recognize when he should lay off of Sullivan vs just keeping on swinging from the fences. A lot of little improvements will make a big difference in the long run.

Munguia is a heck of a prospect and lots of potential but I don’t think he is ready for the big boys yet, scary round 3 when he got caught with that punch, very impressive he didn’t go down but very lucky that was the end of the round
