Latvia did really well holding the finns olympic champions to a 2-1 victory for me latvia is below finland canada usa sweden czech republic in world hockey they were in this game until the end and deserve respect for their performance

In the 1st period (not in highlights), Latvia almost scored an own goal when signalizing the Finnish penalty. I am not sure if it would be a regular goal in such situation, but it was funny.

Я считаю эту игру для Латышской сборной куда лучше чем когда они показали с США, здесь уже видна сплоченость команды и хорошая игра, просто немного не повезло нам, а как по мне держались достойно, правда я прикола не понял, почему в конце игрока финской сброной не посадили на скамью, когда тот прописал Букартса в борт, что тому нос разбил до крови, вроде за такое должны давать 2 минуты, на скамье, а так финнам удачи, в следующем этапе.🇱🇻🫂🇫🇮

I think it was clear 2 minutes from the boarding, the blood doesnt really make any difference in that case. I guess referees missed it. Could have compensated and not give penalty to Latvia on the next penalty.

Там прикола не понял когда Букартсу долбанули до крови в конце и не посадили на скамью игрока финнской команды, а когда наш игрок чуть потянул за шлем в одном моменте то там 2 минуты дали нашим.

@@Morkoo and when we go pushed in back at bort with blood. Ref was blind. Overall game was rlly great. But refs was from USA and Canada (NHL refs) You dont give that kind of penalty at end of game when game is so equal. I think he killed game, and Latvians was much better today.

Was a good game, but referee made a questionable call 3 minutes before the end when it was 1:1 and later gave nothing when there was a 100% boarding penalty.

If you see the check is coming and you turn your back before the hit it's not boarding. Also the contact was very light.

@@eetumon post game interviews. perhaps did not spread any wider, as it's not changeable anyway. video review in the game would be possible only if referee whistle for 2min, they could check either its 2 or 2+2 but as he decide no whistle for fault -no chance to check, and the moment is passed

@@eetumon with 1:1 and 3min on the clock, i would prefer to see the whistle for very clear and obvious faults only; as f.i. in defence, with a threat in attack etc, but not along the board on the other side, such an game episodes you could find 5 in each round at least, why just not to let play the hockey for last 3 min of the game; i know who's lost and who's better , just saying ;)

Good job guys! Finnish mvp - referee who didnt give 2+2 for that bloody scene in the end and gave 2 mins for Latvians for "holding" when guy was literaly trying to get his stick out, did not neither physicaly block, hold back or hurt Finnish player anyhow. IIHF is dogshit, no wonder why nobody almost watches this shit besides young naive people with hope that international hockey gonna be great. Good luck in further games both teams, probably last game watched this year.

The tackle at the end was soft as babys skin. There was nothing wrong with it, just unfortunate that the guy hit his nose against the wall so it started bleeding. Also there were no penalties for holding in the whole game. I believe you are referencing Latvias last hooking call which was on the edge if it should be counted as such, but stupid and risky play by Latvian attacker regardless. In situation like that you should not give referee a single chance to consider giving penalty.

Don't let that ruin your tournament😂. The last tackle was by no means a foul, and the Latvian attacker played way too riskly, as expected when almost winning against an ice hockey powerhouse. Admit it, Latvia lost. Plain and simple.

It is a pity that there is no Russian national team at the championship that would have smashed the Finland and Canadian team into powder. Generally it is not fair to athletes that some hockey officials mix politics and sport.

It's a pity that Russia can not attend this tournament. Of course, it is shame to Russian government to fight such terrible war and I am definitely against it, as a Russian citizen. But at the same time it is double standards : in 2003 did anybody worry about USA bombing Irak without any UN's permission? Any sanctions? No...

Reason why the Russian athletes aren't allowed to play is that, in Russia, sports is heavily controlled the state, so the banning of russian players works as a punishment for state's actions. Also, invasion of Iraq isn't comparable to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. USA attacked because Saddam Hussein didn't understand politics and diplomacy and as a result, claimed that he had weapons of mass destruction, while Russia attacked Ukraine because Ukraine wants to be part of DEFENSIVE military alliance know as NATO and EU, and because they are an example of working democracy in former Soviet states and as a such, make it obvious that autocracy isn't the only choice for Russia which of course threatens Putin&co.
