I don't support either side. But looking at the highlights, there wasn't a whole lot he could have done to save the first two Portland goals. Especially the 1st.

I mean, the first two definitely aren’t his fault and the last one took a deflection. The third goal he probably could’ve gotten but it’s 50/50. He made a few other saves, but really the Timbers were just shooting great and got a bit lucky

Do MLS teams just randomly grab four people off the street & play them in their back lines? Honestly, the league has less defending than an NBA All-Star game.😆 And the goalkeeping is either world-class or utterly shambolic. Steady? Reliable? Not so much.

I don’t think the initial shot was on frame. Calling it a shot is generous, it definitely seems like a cross. It’s not going in until the defender deflects it

@@thehutch1674 you need to look up the definition of what a cross is. that ball is far too fast and low for anyone to get a foot on it. it was a shot at goal.

It was definitely that, he was not shooting that otherwise he’d put more power behind it. Blanco doesn’t half ass a shot, from that angle he hits it over the bar 9/10 times if he’s shooting

There were no Portland bodies within 10-12 feet of the path of the ball, none of which even made any attempt towards it proving my point. I was also sitting right behind Blanco during that moment, not watching a 720p video on the internet taken from a midfield press box. You don’t need to do extra work to try and validate your guy’s lucky goal. No one cares.
