बहुत बढ़िया मैच रहा है यह! उस समय आज की तरह हर घर टीवी नाही होते थे, ब्लकि केवल दिल्ली में ही बहुत कम अवधी के लिए टीवी की व्यवस्था थी ,इसलिए हम ट्रान्झिस्टर पर रनिंग कॉमेंट्री सुना करते थे, लेकिन उसमे बहुत आनंद मिलता था! 1983 तक भारतीय टीम ने कभी कोई इंटरनॅशनल ट्राफी नाही जीती थी, इसलिए भी उस ट्राफी का आनंद अमर्याद था! सभी खिलाड़ियों ने जी जान से खेलकर यह जीत हासिल की थी! पुरानी यादें ताजा करने के लिए धन्यवाद!

This was the very first cricket match which I watched on my neighbour's TV and I still live this happy memory. I can still remember that when the match ended, it was about 1 am. But still everybody was awake and cheered Indian team. After the memorable victory , everyone was in the streets celebrating. Another interesting thing is that, there was an electric bulb in our landing which used to go off and on suddenly due to loose connection. So long as that bulb was off, India steadily lost wickets and Viv Richards was hitting the balls all over the park. Coincidentally , the moment that bulb was on, Richards got out and West Indies started loosing wickets which cost them the match. I was only 11 years old at that time. But it still seems to have happened only yesterday .

There were no T V then. We had only radio's to listen running commentary . I was listening it till late nights, and further . But what a game it was ! From nowhere , no hopes, to dreamlike win! No one will forget it ! The team gave us proudest moments ! Thanks !❤

I was 14. I remember listening to Kapil take Viv Richard's catch on my friends old radio. The voice was very faint but I strained myc ear to listen I still feel the delight. Kapil running behind the ball is in the air Kapil takes the catch Richard's gone india on the way to victory!
