This was the very first cricket match which I watched on my neighbour's TV and I still live this happy memory. I can still remember that when the match ended, it was about 1 am. But still everybody was awake and cheered Indian team. After the memorable victory , everyone was in the streets celebrating. Another interesting thing is that, there was an electric bulb in our landing which used to go off and on suddenly due to loose connection. So long as that bulb was off, India steadily lost wickets and Viv Richards was hitting the balls all over the park. Coincidentally , the moment that bulb was on, Richards got out and West Indies started loosing wickets which cost them the match. I was only 11 years old at that time. But it still seems to have happened only yesterday .

Viv Richards's wicket was the turning point. Kapil Dev took a mervelous catch. That had opened the door for India.

Kapil Dev is a precious jewel of our Indian Cricket. After him, India has not seen such alrounder ❤️
