Brilliant Lads. My only complaint is, here's another game where we have had 30mins or more to score a fourth try and not done it. It has happened too often over the last few yrs. That's the difference between us and teams like Ireland who would have got the fourth try. Even when they get beat they usually get the bonus losing point.

My complaint is the officials made it as difficult as they could for us to get the bonus point again. Is it any coincidence that as soon as Scotland scored the 3rd try against Wales, Ben O'Keefe gave a record breaking streak of penalties against us in the Wales game??? The Irish officials took a different approach against England and tried to give England a leg up from the start and build pressure again at us. There were around 10-15 decisions that stopped us getting possession. I called that this would happen before the game, and it played out. We just scored worldies with what possession we had. Against France, Nic Berry also influenced 3 key moments. I called that he would have a major one before the game, and it played out. The point is it is predictable because it happens every year to Scotland and you can think through the tactics the same way World Rugby would.

I agree officials seem to have it in for Scotland. Not just the 6 nations but the world cup. Scotland's matches at the last World Cup, the teams we played should have had a player sent off . When l saw yesterday's officials were all Irish l thought if we win we will have earned it because the officials will not want us to win. But the team has to take some responsibility for not getting the 4th try in matches. Russell said himself after the French game Scotland had enough chances to win the game before the controversial decision.

@@robert.257 someone else put this better than I could... as a sprinter you don't have to win the race by an extra metre just in case they make the wrong decision at the photo finish... a race is a race I think we did well just to get over the officiating to win the game (the bonus point was made almost impossible)

@@quietenglishman4179 I'm not sure about better players. On paper England can put out strong teams. They remind me slightly of English football under Capello - lots of names who perform week in week out for their clubs but don't perform on the international stage. Coaching must be a part of the problem and also confidence levels. The amount of basic errors, like bad passes, ultimately cost us the game. Re-igniting a team's confidence is no easy task.

@@cumbraeboy2528 actually just checked, Petersons mother was English, and he moved to England as a teenager - so no problem as far as I can see. He had English ancestry - which is exactly why he was eligible. You knew that right? No problem with people being born aboard, if you meet the ancestry rules, or if you then move to England as a child/youngster and are a product of the schooling and domestic system. Van Der Mevre has none of those things going for him - he had no connection to Scotland, other than working there for a few months.

I don’t think many people are unhappy with this game. Scots are happy because they won due to English mistakes and the genius of Van de Merwe. England are happy because, were it not for some obvious unforced mistakes clearly down to unfamiliarity, the final score would likely have been 48-24
