The 2008 recession, Fountain going out of business and Dave Scott and Budweiser leaving all around the same time really killed it for awhile. After that turbine class folded and people started racing the same hulls for years with a lot of people buying old Victory copies of the Callans instead of seeing new designs every few years. The Big MTI 48/52s and the Mystic C500r were the last big race cats designed as far as I know and both were over a decade ago. This isn't some much of a sport as it as a very rich mans idea of a fun weekend. The drivers are typically the owners and throttlemen hired guns so the status of the sport has far more to do with the status of the business than most.

She has been bought and rebranded/renamed as Husky Chocolate., So she is still there just looks different. 👍

It’s a DOHC 9liter twin turbo v8 made my mercury that produces 1100hp that’s running at 8500/9k rpm’s for literally hours… On a surface that is constantly changing. The force from Landing back in the water. Things break. There’s not one common or few common things. Things can’t handle the physical stress and pressure the water makes. Then running at 7k rpm’s for 4 hours. Much much different then road racing, drag racing. Literally nothing compares to offshore and hydroplane racing. Absolutely nothing.

I don't appriciate it when a professional commentator does not know the topic they are commentating on. It's not professiuonal in the least, and it's disrespectful of the sport. I do my utmost to either know enough about a topic to comment on it, or keep my offerings phrased as questions offered toward someone I know has a solid track-record that has a result that is undeniable. Literally like he first year back for class 1… There isn’t going to be a lot of boat the first year. Never is for new classes. Also if 5 boats is such a problem for you then why don’t go get yourself 40-50ft cat with surface drives and 1100 mercs… Lmk how it feels dropping the 800k at least on just the boat and engines. That’s not a new boat either. Better get a second set of motors. The truck to haul it.
