Sweden did not play well. All the players and all the Swedish commentators and coaches agreed Sweden underperformed hugely, and played at barely 60-70%. They were far too relaxed and sloppy, didn't take the game seriously. They tried to win with minimal effort. No one here is proud of this game.

When Sweden do not respect their opponent, they try to win with minimal effort. USA, Germany, Latvia are all teams who have had good results in recent tournaments and in these matches the Swedish team have another mentality heading into the match. Poland, France, Kazakstan are teams they could score 10 goals in each if they used the effort like vs the USA. But they just hold the puck, pass around and dont get uncomfortable.

Sweden had already advanced to the quarter finals but a win against France would mean that Sweden would win the group and could stay in Ostrava. By no means France is an "easy" opponent, but Sweden didn't play at their full capacity either, just enough to secure a win. First period was uneventful, with both teams testing each other out, and the match really begun in the second period. Both teams did well but I'm not surprised Sweden has won 6 out of 6 so far!

Boring by Sweden, I say as a swede. People can come with cope that they were resting and it was a game that did not matter but in my experience that shouldn't matter. I don't see that hunger I want to see, I don't want to see us eliminated in the quarter.

When you play with zero energy, like this game, because it's a weaker opponent, it can come back to bite you in the arse! This thing with Sweden turning on and off the energy is why Sweden loses when it gets critical!!

Reading the comments here. Its like most of you never watched a worldcup ever before. Sweden looks tired? No defence? I cant be bothered getting into all your fails but i will say this Sweden will be in the finals and when its happens all of your favorite teams here will be watching this game. At home...

@@Baby_Noodles You think that was salty? You've never seen me mad I was just pointing out how the better teams dont need to prove anything before the playoffs. They go out there, pick up their 3 points, making sure all lines get their time and that no one gets injured. Teams like Austria, Denmark and Slovakia cant afford to think like that. They need every point they can get if they want to make it to the playoffs. So their motivation differs quite a bit.

as a finn, watching this swedish team, i just dont think they are very good. they lack defense, offense and especially structure. 3-1 against france? hmm... and why the finnish QF against sweden will be an easy matchup for finland. dont forget this is the easier group too. pre tournament i had sweden ranked 6-7, and they are proving me right in that regard. with that said, great game by france! best wishes from finland!
