Here's some information about my most popular online course, How to Help Your Child Calm and Regulate.
I share an example of something that parents learn in the first module, examples of strategies that participants learn, and how the approach differs from one in which parents focus more on behaviour rather than calming/regulation.
I'll also share why this approach creates lasting change, without shutting down your kids' innate motivation, spiritedness and passion for life 🔥
It supports them to be "real" and authentic.
I'd love to hear your questions or comments below!
The course is available now as a self-study course here: colleenadrian.com/calm-self-r...
And it's also offered live with weekly support/enrichment classes once a year - next in 2024. Email colleen@colleenadrian.com to get on the waitlist.

Thank you for posting these videos. I really needed to hear a lot of what you had to say in this video among other videos you have posted regarding regret and shame. My child has emotional regulation challenges, intense rage, self harm and aggression towards me. There have been occasions where I was triggered by the behaviour, subsequently resulting in me raising my voice. The guilt and regret is unimaginable. I want nothing but the best for my sweet girl and regret any time that I don’t respond appropriately. I do realize this is an internal trigger for me that resulted in that response. I am so relieved to hear that repair is what’s important here. Right now I am doing the circle of security course for parents, learning a ton about attachment , however I am so fearful of occasional responses where I become dis regulated as well impacting my child in a negative way. Does repair truly help these moments ? She is my everything and I never want to do anything to cause emotional damage as I came from a home filled with this. I would love to have the most connected relationship possible with her. Thank you again for your videos they are incredibly helpful for me ❤

@Lynds-kw2pr Thanks for sharing your experience and feedback. I'm so glad you find my videos helpful. It sounds like you've found some good support in your circle of security course for parents. And yes, repair helps a lot. Remember--there is no perfect. The (inner critic) voice inside your head would have you believe that you *should* be able to prevent ever losing your patience or saying something you regret, but that's not true. And, when you repair, your child learns from your example that it's okay to make mistakes and then repair. It shows her that *real* relationships have a love that lasts through conflict and repair. Wishing you well 🌷❤
