This is the most beautiful song I heard in a long time. I adore Lara, beautiful songs, great voice, amazing songs ! Sissel is something else , (more religious songs, and I'm not even into religion), and all the other songs she brings, just love to hear her singing... Please, react on "slow down"!!!

You will not believe what she can do with her voice. Unbelievable. You know, she is the one Titanic was written for. It ended up with Celine- but she got the part with no words. So beautiful

Did celine get it because of the name recognition? Neverr lost m8ney underestimating the ameticans taste
@willarth9186 Жыл бұрын
@@snorttroll4379 Exactly. Celine had the name recognition and replaced Sissel even though Sissel had almost the entire score finished which was why except for the song, everything else in the movie is Sissel's voice.

She's has an amazing voice, she does Christmas shows in Scandinavia in November and December, I was at her show in December last year. Amazing 😀 Fun fact, she's did the voice of Disney's the little mermaid in Denmark, Sweden and Norway

My favourite ABBA song ever. It's hard to "accept" someone else than Frida singing it, but this is a very nice version as well.

Do you know that Frida was born in Norway and fled to Sweden with her mother and grandmother? That's why I think it's an honor that a Norwegian woman of all people covered this song, which Frida sang with Abba. And a very good one at that. I really like Sissel.

HXC is a great channel to watch if you want to learn about amazing content that is outside your usual list of types of videos to watch. I have never heard of Sissel or this song before but I like her voice and the song seems perfect for her! As always, HXC's commentary just makes the experience 100 x's more enjoyable. Great reaction video!!!

I was hoping you'd get around to Sissel sometime! This gal is one of the top, top class sopranos, about 20 yrs older than Patricia Janeckova. She's mostly pop music singer, but also does opera, and folk. Try some of her other you tube presentations - especially when she goes high - you will love it!!! Got some good suggestions down below. But she has a great CD out - Northern Lights - which has several outstanding songs on it - Koppangen, Going Home, and several others. Her "Pie Jesu" is tops. When she gets up high, your hair is gonna get raised!!

Great review. I love Sissel. Another song at the Pioneer Concert with the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra was “Slow Down.” If you want to go back inside your spiritual self give that one a listen. Five minute standing ovation by the 18,000. I’d absolutely love to see your reaction. ….Also love your Angelina Jordan reactions. You feel the tender messages in the voices.

Sissel has an amazing voice and the song itself is a dream, it transmits a blend of tenderness and sadness at the same time, and it was obvious on your face expressions that you felt it. Nice video reaction.

I first heard Sissel when she sang the Olympic Hymn at Lillehammer in 1994. As lovely as this performance is, it is not the best example of Sissel's soprano range. Try this rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Pie Jesu" (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f5eXm86Bq8idYHk.html).

You need to listen to Sissel singing Slow Down with I believe the same choir. An unimaginably beautiful song sung unimaginably beautifully. At the end Sissel was in tears whether from the totally well deserved standing ovation she got or from the song itself. It will give you chills and goosebumps simultaneously.
@leecowell8165 Жыл бұрын
She was in tears due to the unexpected reaction of the audience. This was the only time I saw her cry in over 30 years of listening to her. It absolutely overwhelmed her rather than the other way.

I love that one!! She has the perfect voice for that song. Yes, the same choir.

@@leecowell8165 Yes, she said in interview once, that "you can't sing while weeping" yet she wept throughout her Sally Gardens performance (KZfaq) and in other captures her eyes swim , so she does get caught up in the sentiments of the song.

Thank you for reacting to Sissel again, liked your reaction to her song Silent Night a month ago. Sissel is with her crystal clear voice the best vocalist in Skandinavia ( if not in the world ). Another song at that concert got an endless standing ovation, maybe react to that song next. Why haven't all ABBA songs been presented? ABBA has been around since at least 1974. ABBA also toured the USA in the 1970s. Unfortunately, there was no wow effect. Have people in the USA finally returned to real and good music? If that's the case: Bravo. Better late than never.

There's a big difference in her voice quality back then with Tabernacle Choir and now with Orchestra at Temple Square. She lost most of her "angelic voice" she had back then. In any case this arrangement bring this song in completely new light obscured by mechanized performace of Frida in original recording. Someone at that time was not interested in exploring emotional power of lyrics and subtle melody.
