It's based on a bl novel. They got rid of bl part (the kidwas suiciding because he was bullied for being gay, Bong JaeHyun is his ML in the novel). Some people are happy because it would have been a romance between an adult gangster and a highschool kid, others are upset because why straightwash a bl, when they already have Dude in Me plot.

they took it out completely cause it causes issues. since MC is an "adult" and the guy that would be ML is a LITTERAL CHILD. a High schooler. So it made sense to take that out if they going mainstream TV show with this.

Ummmmm Not to try to kill your excitement cause is you’re choice to watch it . But your encouraging them to do this , What if this show is successful and they start doing this to other bl stories. I’m sorry I’m not supporting this , it’s homophobic that the show runners think that it wouldn’t be successful because of bl elements. I really don’t understand why you’re supporting it . @@Maldo-lq2ys It has zero to do with homophobia. This is a severe term that should NOT be used so easily. Stating the simple fact that a story can work without homosexuality being a part of the story, or really any other aspect that does simply not matter for the story itself, has nothing to do with encouraging anyone to take gay source materials and make them 'un-gay' in an adaptation. X'D The owner of the source material has to give their ok for it in the first place. And most of the time it is more beneficial than harmful. Just because people aren't openly gay on screen doesn't mean the characters are not gay anymore in many stories that get changed around, mind you. Sometimes you just have to face reality and that sexuality does simply not matter if all the focus is simply on a story being told rather than a romance. That's simply how it is, like it or not. Removing aspects of a story can and always will be a thing, it has been for MANY things already. Hetero stories(stories that simply do not care about portraying sexuality or other aspects as in the source as well got changed around to appeal more to the general masses. And some works simply cannot HAVE an animated or liveaction adaptation if everything remains as in the source material (Chinese works such as TGCF or other works of that amazing author for example would simply NOT exist). Sometimes it's unfortunate but often enough it's perfectly fine because people will then often look for the original and give that a try as well. And really, sometimes stories simply do not need to have the sexuality mentioned. There are PLENTY BL works out there that have a huge storyline and sexuality is simply a sidething that the readers enjoy and flock to. If the story is interesting enough, there is sometimes just no need to bring romance or sex into it for it to be a good read/watch. That's just how it is.

If they want to make a show about switching bodies then make the show without using a bl novel that is meant for bl audiences and for someone the love the novel , back stabbed the fans in the back to have it change for their own benefit . And Bl fans are upset that it changed the source material.

@@Maldo-lq2ys As I said: Some stories do not need that aspect in them to work and some cannot come to be something like an anime or live action with it included since some countries are still seeing such productions as a loss as the people living there are simply not interested as much. You need to keep in mind that these adaptions are made for ONE country. They are not made for international audiences, so the creators will go with what they deem more worthwhile. Which is often enough non-BL content. The problem here is partially precisely what you said in my eyes tbh: People read the source because it's BL content, yet it has such a grand story that it doesn't need that factor to be a good story. Hence why it can be removed and pull in even more watchers that will potentially even enjoy the original source material. As I mentioned, I am sad to see that aspect of BL go as well, it's never a pleasant thing. But the source material CAN work without including the sexual aspect. It's not needed for the story to still function and it is something the original fans can still keep in mind as canon. Disliking this adaptation simply because we don't get to see them suck face or rail like rabbits isn't really sensical in my eyes. It should be the story that matters more than the sexual aspect. It would be better to treat this work similar to Heavenly Official's Blessing/TGCF and REMEMBER that it is BL instead of wanting it on screen. A story CAN work with the sexual aspect removed. However, if all you want to see in a story is kissing a sex between male characters then of course that's not gonna be your thing. I myself sure as hail enjoy sexual-type content but it's not a requirement for me if the story itself is good still. And this one is one of those. I can understand the frustration but only if the show ever promised that it WOULD infact be the same as the source. Which most of these productions do not promise as the non-BL factor is always immediately their goal from what i know. I know it sucks, but I would honestly suggest you try watching content for the story and only view the BL as cherry on top rather than focus. Watching stuff with the thought of "it's originally a gay couple I'm seeing on screen right now" CAN absolutely work but often enough it shouldn't matter if the story is still enjoyable. Which I know will be a make or break for people who, as I said, only consume BL content for the sexual aspect or the romance rather than simply enjoying STORIES. This is a case by case thing, to each their own. But I for one really do not see an issue with any of this as it is not harmful. If anything, it's likely helpful for the original author to create more stories for us to enjoy and maybe even have an adaptation that IS infact BL someday. :)
