@@kriskelley5031 It was when Texas was rural, lots of southern accents and most of the people living there were born and raised there and came from a long line of family from Texas. Today there are many transplants there and the Texas tradition is slowly going away.

@@billlevins7460 How do you think the indigenous people that were around for thousands of years felt when the Europeans came in? Or later how do you think the Mexicans felt when the White settlers came in? Yes I know about the "Tejanos" that were both Mexican and American and fought against Mexico, but the point is that the land has been occupied by several groups of people, not just White European settlers that arrived only 150-200 some years ago.
