He must've not reviewed the testing from the Michigan State Police because they are not on the same level as the Chargers. They are 1.25 seconds slower from 0 -60, top out at 130 compared to 140 for the Charger, takes almost 3/4 of a mile to reach 120, which is very important on the Interstates where the Charger takes less than half a mile. The Charger takes 34.08 seconds to reach 140 but the Durango takes 45.07 seconds to reach it's top speed which is 10 MPH slower. In Braking, the Charger averaged 129.6 feet to come to a full stop from 60 mph averaging 29.89 feet per second. For the Durango, 137.70 feet at 28.28 fps. So as civilian vehicles get faster, especially the EV's, the police cars get slower. Thank god they're not producing fighter jets, they'd be outrun by a Cessna! Now get some EV Chargers when they hit the market supposedly in 2024 with 0 - 60 at less than 3 seconds and they're supposed to have a very rapid charge rate.

@@getbruhd6087 - Yes as long as they got the 3.0 ecoboost which are faster than the Chargers. There's mixed opinions from the officers on them with the biggest complaints of the shifting points and don't hold up like the former Crown Vics.

@@joed9491 That’s a big issue too. Those chargers always kept it together because the pursuit ones have the old 5 Speed Autos. Not sure the Durango will be as good either. They don’t hold up as great either, and it has the less reliable 8 Speed Auto. Those 3.0 FPIUs are stupid fast, and I feel that they would hold up better. There’s some reason as to why so many departments use them.

Aren’t the Durangos getting discontinued in 2024 as well? If that’s the case then this is a short term solution made out to be a long term one

There's been no such announcement. Only the 4 door Charger and the 2 door Challenger are getting discontinued.

10 months later, Durangos have serious transmission & engine issues. Many police departments have had to let the entire fleet sit as they wait for a fix from Dodge. They are overheating, burning oil, engine slipping, transmission not engaging… a whole lot of problems already.😂

No, the Durango is the SUV version of the Charger basically, they are vary similar but due to the Duesngos size it is abit slower, they have more space tho

No. I'm also a Charger, Challenger, and Durango enthusiast but I like the Charger the most. The reason why the Charger is faster despite the Charger and Durango having the same trim level options is because the Charger is a lighter, more nimble Sedan while the Durango is a heavier SUV. And this is true. For the Hellcat versions of the Charger and Durango, the top speed for the Charger is 203 MPH (Hellcat Redeye) with 797 Horses under the hood. Durango Hellcat on the other hand tops out at 180 MPH. So that's a difference of 23 MPH, which is quite a big margin.

Hey Jessica it holds the some prisoner count as the charger its the cargo capacity of the suv form thats more over all useful to the end recipient and the higher ride height makes a guy ,'or gals,' feild of vision and overall safety a much easier tool to be able to articulate in day to day operations. , You sound angry jess , let it go , he's not gonna call you back.

The latest 3.5 twin turbo explorers are insane you get a trooper who knows how to drive and it's pretty much over , trust me the only thing they don't have with all these hot cop cars are brakes
