I wish they would add an element of long, paved road journeys, so that the true highway trucks like the Transtar and CLT had a legitimate use. It would also be an opportunity to give highway tires some love. Like if you had to retrieve a big heavy semi trailer from a remote location, bring it to a road, and then transport it to the other side of the map on a fully or mostly paved road. You could use an off road suited truck to retrieve the trailer, then transfer it to a highway truck for the long journey. I went to the trouble of dragging the Transtar out of the swamp on Smithville, only to find that it's basically unusable, which sucks because I love the looks of it, and the horn. It's a great highway truck; the game just needs some highways.

Thing is, anything these trucks can do can be done easier with any medium truck. The only purpose these trucks have (except the GMC, which becomes a Fleetstar equivalent once you get the AWD for it) is to provide a challenge for masochists.

@@MrKokuen Right now, you're right. But if there were long highway stretches, you could have the dedicated highway trucks set up for highway running. Put UHD III's and a highrange transmission, and you've got the best highway rig you can get. All my Fleetstar and equivalents are set up with UOD II's and off road transmissions. Sure, they're not bad on the road, but dedicated highway trucks would be better. The alternative is you take the Fleetstar to the garage and swap out the parts, which would take more money and time than is worth it.

I honestly don’t mind the International Transtar on some less difficult maps, as long as it has some weight over the rear wheels that is. With RWD like the Ford and International, you definitely want as much weight over those rear wheels as possible for traction, a fuel tanker will usually do the job quite well.

considering how the game is structured the Highway class is quite useless, as the portions of asphalt are very minimal in the maps so, apart from the scouts, the only two really useful classes in the game are the heavy and off-road.

The gmc (starter truck) is the only one capable of AWD. It would be nice to have at least one map where we could use these. I really love the snub nose old Ford on here but damn if I can find a use for her :(

International has 39'' tires. Ford has 43'' tires. GMC has 47'' tires. Having RWD only - that's all you have to consider. Oh and fuel consumption test in this case is useless - show me a path in Snowrunner where you can drive a RWD Ford CLT for 53 minutes.

Looks like you did this test before you found the gmc awd upgrade in the season pass lake kovd map. So even w/o it, it barely wins. With it, it'll dominate. I actually used it in the Canadian maps and it got around really good, I was actually impressed.

For the looks ford but the mh9500 has that op 6x6 which is rlly good soo i would go with that if i needed to go trough rlly deep mud or snow and another thing i kinda hate the placement of the snorkel on the gmc it would be better if it would be on the cab but its ok i still love hpw good it is off road for a highway truck

I’m just wondering, what exactly is the purpose of the CLT9000 and the Transtar in this game? I also find it interesting that the majority of the North American trucks have no mud tire options.

On one of my play throughs I did like 90% of the Michigan region only using these 3 trucks (prior to the GMC receiving an AWD upgrade). So although they are certainly limited, there is still a fair bit of content that can be enjoyed using the Ford CLT9000 and the International Transtar. But they do have to have off road tires before they are of much use on anything but paved roads.

This comparison is useless since you used the diff.lock and AWD on the GMC. No comparison needed to know that a truck with diff.lock and AWD will beat trucks that don´t have that...Also as already stated in the comments the UOD II tires are best in mud. Just because a tire is at the bottom of the list or the most expensive doesn´t mean it is the best tire overall.

@@BabooWik I think only then is the comparison of interest. Diff.lock and AWD against trucks that don´t have that is a no-brainer. It would have been much more of interest to see how the GMC measured against the Ford and the International on even grounds.

@@BabooWik This is late but you completely failed to notice the GMC didn't even have AWD at the time of this test. Actually watch the upgrades being put on and you'll see it wasn't there.
