This video is a complete tutorial pertaining to finding out standard consistency of cement as per IS 4031 Part 4 .After watching full video , you can find out standard consistency of cement , in concrete laboratory, without any code or help.

Sir, I think while testing room, water Temperature should be 27⁰C ± 2⁰C hona chahiye, and Humidity 65% ±5% please iseke bare me thoda bataye...

I got only one time period which is for making paste and filling in mould with in 3-5 min but I never got pentrating time for SCT

A Minimum quantity of water required to initiate the chemical reaction between water and cement to form a paste is known as consistency of cement. Standard Consistency - It is that cement consistency which will allow the Vicat plunger to penetrate to 5-7 mm point from the bottom of Vicat mould is known as standard consistency. There is no time limit .It is just like liquid limit test.

Because 300 gram is sufficient for filing the mould , you can take 400 or 500 gram no problem

You can start the test from 26 % water content , go on increasing until you get required reading for standard consistency. Please see whole video for clarification.

Why 300 gms not 400 gm

Because 300 gram is sufficient , if you want you can take 400 gram.

It is just a assumption to fillup sufficient paste in mould... If you have to required more cement then take it,,,,, it does not matter what is the weight required but it give impotant about to fillup the mould a minimum weight should be taken & i.e 400gm

Actually he's saying R8 about humidity but we can't able to change the atmospheric conditions for the precise betterment of this test. That should be required when we need high level of precision thanks.
