Can't wait till this gets done as I need to travel between Doncaster and Bedford and with the black cat roundabout it takes unnecessarily long, so once this is done the roundabout will be much quieter

Great news, the A14 upgrade worked a treat so come on get this one done and fill in the current gap on the dualled A428. This area has done well out the recent road schemes and if places like Stonehenge don't want their £££ tunnel (even though I imagine those who are actually local are crying out for it) then bring the money this way to the east !

Did it? A14 huntingdon to Cambridge is still a nightmare standstill but as soon as you hit m11 it’s clear

It's a shame it's only a dual carriageway, there's enough traffic for a motorway!

Agreed. The improvements look good, but what we really need is more lanes. But black cat is especially bad. Two lanes, all the traffic in one of them. Bad design.

This video is 2 years old and they’ve only just started works! Will be good when it’s done though. 👍🏻 I’m a delivery driver who uses these roads. 😊

This is what should have been done when the junction was changed in 2014. So many minutes and hours wasted per car, that adds up to years of people's lives.

Yay only 20 years late. This should have been done properly decades ago but planners copped out of the flyover solution that should have been done before. Now please tell me when the A1 from Biggleswade south to black cat will be sorted. That is tragically behind the times with average cameras and 50mph limits. Shameful

This will not work now Winteringham is now being built, will need a dual carriageway from loves farm and Wintringham also, 20 years behind as normal

So from what I can see this is being included in the plans, there will be a junction just next to Wintringham and Loves farm allowing traffic from the two new areas and St Neots in general to use the new road.

@@BigT.Grizzly do you mean like a dedicated on-ramp? In theory it should only be traffic from and around St Neots trying to join there so significantly less than what is passing through currently even after the new developments are complete. I should think rush hour might be a bit slower but with less through traffic I would expect it to match what is there currently

0.1% of our GDP being spent on 10 miles of new road for 0.06% of motorists. Oh, and this wont improve congestion in the area. Road-building never does. EastWest rail will improve congestion in this area, and it will do it without destroying the countryside. By 2037 this road will be congested again, and another billion will need to be spent. Absolute corruption by the racket that is Highways England.
