I always thought my hair grew fast... until I started growing out a pixie cut 😂 Otherwise, congrats on getting to the bob cut! Hair growth pretty much picks up from there rapidly in my experience

I’m still growing mine it’s been 4 months and my hair is already almost a bob here are my tips -don’t wash your hair everyday the natural oils in your hair make it grow - massage your head once a week -don’t bleach or dye it -try not to use heat -use your favorite shampoo not a super strong one and use conditioner -use hats or beanie during awkward stage

i got my hair cut short ... last week? and i'm already planning on growing it out lmaooo. i've had short hair for 5 years now, and i've come close to growing it out twice but each time i give up and cut it off again 😭 but third times the charm.... wish me luck guys

Growing mine out now! Just cut my first mullet off the other day after 3 months growth. Soooo close to a bob I need like my ear section to grow like 2 inches to match my back section 😭😭😭😭

I am growing mine out right now and I agree with all of what you said. So many times I wanted to just cut it off but once I got over my first mullet I realized to embrace the mullet and roll with the awkward. It got easier to handle the awkward in months 3-4 of growing out because I think once your sideburns and hair around your ear grow down it becomes more manageable. From one pixie grower to another, keep it up!!

I grew out my pixie cut several years ago, took about ten months to get to a bob. I did love my pixie cut but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to that mainly because of the hassle of growing it out. These are all good tips! I was lucky that it was winter during most of the awkward stages, so I would wear a beanie or beret every day to hide it. Patience and persistence is key!

Almost 7 months of growing my pixie cut, and I'm so proud to say that the process is almost done! I have a bob since month 3/4, but I don't like short bob on me, so I'm waiting til my hair touch my collar bones to let my hair down! I think that was my issue the first time i attempted to grow my hair out years ago, I thought ‘ok i’m growing out my hair lets NOT go to the haircutters’ which was probs the biggest mistake i made. The hair growing down my neck drives me nuts, esp since i get my sides and back shaved and that was killing me. I like all the stages of growing out my pixie... Just enjoy the process my only thing that I did was chop the bottom off and kept doing that Untill the short bob came about with no problem... So yes it takes time but about year,,, I think is about the time for it to look give a long bob l love it now,,,, I can put it up curl. It straighten it half up half down... Yes hair bands helped with the process too..... Just don't get frustrated because that's. Danger you will end up cutting it off again 😱enjoy the ride as in life ❤

Growing out my pixie now and its very hard but now that its longer and it is a bit wavy, I am starting to feel like this is do-able. Those newsboy caps are wonderful too. **Not sure I am going to do the blunt cut thing people say to do because I actually dont look good in one length at all. My layers are growing out in a fun way so I might be one who doesnt mind the mullet! I am going for a medium length shag so we'll play it by ear. I like the shaggy hair growing out longer on my neck. I had to pixie my hair to cut off 5 yrs of dark red henna that went green after coloring. Now its blonde and short and I am excited to see a new hairstyle grow out.

I know this is old. I cut all my hair off because of a long mullet😓 I got a pixie cut 2/22/19 a day before my b-day but it's taking a while to grow, I've been taking biotin it has helped some and I'm going to start using biotin shampoo and conditioner but I will definitely trim the mullet side when it comes. Never thought about that idea. But I know every time I've gone to a place go get a trim they took too much off. So I'm going with your idea. Hope it helps

cut my hair this year on January, cut off mullet about 2 months (March). Then decided to leave the rest grow 😂 supposed to cut mullet every 2 months, but I'm too lazy. Anyway I'm on 6/7 months now, top part of my hair past my ear already and lower awkward part is on shoulder length so.. probably getting bob haircut on December. can't wait! 6 months to go!

I had a pixie a few years ago, and my hair is finally below my collarbone. I hated the growing out stages, but now I kinda wanna cut it again.

In the process of growing out my pixie cut. The front is so bulky and I find pinning it back works well to try and keep it tidy. Not enjoying the growing out process, but this isn’t the first time I’ve cut my hair short, so I know I’ll get there eventually. :)

I spent the entire year of 20/20 growing out a very bad pixie cut. January of this year it was finally to my collar and I couldn't take it anymore. It looked so bad I went and got a pixie again. Now in month 4 of another grow out. At least this time it's growing out from a cute pixie instead of the mess I had to deal with last year. I found some thickening leave in growth oil on Amazon that is actually working AND it doesn't leave my hair greasy or oily and I have naturally fine, oily hair. I also do coconut oil and sleep with it in several nights in a row then use a sulfate free shampoo, but that's literally the only time I use shampoo. Any other time I need to cleanse my hair I use cleansing conditioner made by Renpure. As for learning how to style this? All I can say is I cannot wait for this to be over (so that I can cut it off and live with the regret again 😂).

Tried it once before know its long and frustrating but after a couple of lice treatments my fine hair cant take anymore always very carefull but anyway it falls out so easily tried both chemical and natural treatments had to cut it so its easier to treat when im sure theres no eggs or lice coming back anymore I can finally go to a salon to get it fixed and going there to get my ends done so another time if I get lice and if my hair is long I will not damage it but get a pixie and then treat its easier with fragile hair when its short.......

I shaved the back of my head buzzcut short early on in my pixie phase so I’m going to end up skipping the mullet and ending up with an asymmetric a line soon enough. The front of my hair is nearly 8inches in the front from the top of the frontal suture line whereas the back is nearly 3.5 inches from the occipital suture line

My hair melted off in a bleach fail. (Lesson learned). I went from 2 foot long hair, to a VERY short pixie. Let the growing begin lol

I am currently leaving my mullet like look until after my wedding. I will have extensions for the big day so I don’t want to cut any just yet. I shaved it all off in a buzz cut last November

Tips for people who want to re cut it: Try to keep the back a little longer but still even so you don't have to go through the mullet stage. TRUST ME IT WORKS! *I have had a pixie for 5 months and I already have a bob!!*

Shaved my head last February due to awful unhealthy BSL hair, now a year later it’s healthy and natural and not even a bob yet lol. It’s kinda below my ears and near the neck at the back. I need to visit the hair dresser soon. . But I waited till the one year mark before I cut it off 😂

my determatologist put me on high dose vitamin D, and biotin and to use a lot of coconut oil, i cant wait till it grows more, i wont ever do a pixie again, suzanne here, clips and head bands do help avoid the little old lady cut! while its growing out, gosh i hated layers, so bad, glad its growing out on top first, my hair feel out from stress of my son dying last jan, here we are at sept and the top is growing but not the back, ugh, i am patient i can wait, life is not the same any how, this i can handle

I have decided to grow it out now. I feel I would rather sit my A Levels in a mullet than go to uni and gradually get one. Because once I’m a student I am aware I will be too poor to go to the hairdressers. So I might as well get it grown out in a controlled environment now.
