Just imagine winning like 10 games in a row thinking to yourself that you’re the best at this rating. Hikaru comes around 50 points lower, kills your pride in one game to the point you stop playing chess for the rest of the day

I don’t care about Hikaru trash talking gms, that isn’t the point of what I’m saying at all. And for the record, while Hikaru trash talks MORE, magnus trash talks BETTER. I like how self-aware and mature Hikaru is. Honestly he's like the big brother I never had. Sets a great positive example for how to have the right attitude, while maintaining a good sense of humor. I appreciated what Hikaru had to say about why he doesn't like to trash-talk, and the differences for why it wouldn't sit right with him if he did it versus others. Also appreciated the reasoning behind why he plays certain themes for the benefit of other budding players' learning. Much appreciated. I always appreciate these great people sharing such wonderfully enjoyable material which also serves to educate good people in more ways than one

Minute 12 to 13 says he is not into trash talking. One year later makes the "disrespect" series? I think the Hikaru in this video really means what he says. In the newer disrespect videos he does have to push himself to be disrespectful and it doesn't come naturally to him. Good guy.
